Definitely highlight for me for 2006 was getting a cool job that I can be barefoot at all the time, which is exactly what I do. There are at least 5 or so other people often barefoot. Yey for the hippy workplace!

Ryvr, where do you work ? that is so amazingly awesome you get to work barefoot and I'm so jealous, I want a job like that. Mine, not only do I HAVE to wear shoes they have to be steel toe.

    Hey TX,

It's a small web development company here in Asheville. We're all enthusiastic about the work we're doing, but company budget allows for only quite meager pay for skilled computer programmers. So they wouldn't dare say 'wear shoes' or 'your late' or any other silliness. The owner is pretty much a hippie anyway if you can call a well-off man such a thing.

Sounds like yours require shoes for safety. I suppose there is such a cause sometimes (just way, way less frequently than people think). But all my past jobs required shoes for no reason at all.

    Peace Brother,
    Ryvr

I feel your pain, I must wear steel toes at work as well, I dislike them although there is a possibility of them helping one day. I feel better knowing I am not the only one that must wear them.

that is really far out Ryvr, nothing like having a job that you're enthusiastic about AND you get to work barefoot .. a great bonus.

yeah, the shoes are for safety even though I don't generally do anything that would get me hurt. about the only thing would be a 1 ton chlorine cylinder rolling over my foot and with our precautions that is very unlikely.

    peace to you,
    bob
