I completely agree with these concepts. But nothing has really changed in the last 50 years. Israel is still bombing Palestinians, Africans are still embroiled in civil wars, North Koreans are still starving while their Party leaders get fat. We know muchmuc more about climate change than we did 50 years ago but the Central and South American rainforests are still being decimated. And the US has switched from chasing Communists to chasing Muslims.

I'm not trying to be negative. I agree that enlightenment spreads. I'm just saying that it isn't happening, or at least not fast enough.

I agree with you that it isn't happening fast enough, but I strongly attest that change will happen. North Koreans are incredibly delusional people and it's not entirely their fault, and I don't see them are really dangerous to the world as much as they are a danger to themselves. They'll eventually come around. Once they lose faith in their leader and start opening their borders and let people in, they will change. It'll be hard, but it'll happen.

Many people say that poverty isn't a cause of violence, but I think they're dead wrong. Africans are struggling because of this and they are struggling because their resources are being raped by outsiders. This is a fact (Lords of Poverty by Graham Hancock is a great book). If we recognized who these people are and took responsibility, then we can stop this... All of our aid money ends up in the hands of ruthless tyrants... this isn't accidental. Keeping people starving and stupid is necessary in order to have power over them.

Rainforests are being destroyed because the people are desperate and need to sell anything to survive. Something as simple as giving aid and buying off the land and using that land to make money somehow would be a step up.

So it is as it has always been. The greed and ideology of the few outweigh the needs and rights of the many. Individuals have changed but the world has not. We may disagree but we're seeing and saying the same things.

I mean, public consciousness is slowly becoming aware of these things, and our advancements aren't going to go away. Sooner or later, the oppressors will be viewed in the light of day and 'enlightened' people in the future will stop it. The reason why none of this is done because people don't realize that it is happening. Nothing is more dangerous than an appearance of knowledge - It's more dangerous than ignorance.
