I will repeat my point from the OP, you do not tell a schizophrenic that the voices are real and should be listened to. So why is it we are telling people, who most likely wrongly, believe they are trapped in the wrong body that they are? Feeding in to the delusions of a delusional person is detrimental to their overall mental health. I'm sure if you did tell a person that legitimately believed themselves to be the wrong body that they were not, they would get upset. It's not about not potentially upsetting the person, but helping them come to grips with reality and living the best life they can with that reality.

Furthermore it's politically correct bullshit like saying that you can't tell someone something because it might upset them that fucked the whole debate in the first place. So thank you for contributing to the lack of intellectual discourse in this country.

Do you even understand what I am talking about? You are not in a position to decide what is harmful or helpful in absence of a persons own perspective. Further you do not have enough or considered enough information to even come close to suggesting an abstract standard that accounts for the diversity of human potentials. If a schizophrenic isn't capable of apprehending the real picture as it is there is no reason to suspect anything you have said disrupted or contributed to any potential recovery. You think you got a handle on it obviously as you repeat yourself. The self sufficient comfort of agreeing with yourself doesn't present an argument that works for common understanding but might attract special interest. Fact is your moral compass is not the measure of potential healthy or unhealthy responses. It is always the case with those who sentimentally moralize about practical matters. They don't address the issue but rather battle with other moralistic arguments or attack any one as ridiculous that they can't process in their accustomed bombastic manner. The moral imperative of life is self interest and there is no other.

As to what I said about your potential bedside presentation I did not mean to suggest that you would be taken wrongly or that it is not genteel but that you would be taken rightly as in regard the dimwitted affront to human dignity and personal recognizance.. 'Obviously no one is in the wrong body but anyone can be chronically uncomfortable as they find themselves.. And this is a great deal more profound then the assertion of your petty personal world model. The hard ass has a hard time contending with a considerate position no matter how thoroughly benign. Life is fluid and cyclical and might surprise the convicted dead headers.

 

When people say they're transgendered or any other silly sounding labels like agender or whatever, I think of mentally ill people. Something's not right in their head and they just want attention. You're born either female or male and that's it. It's what's between the legs that determine your gender, not "feelings".

One of my neighbors is a tranny. He came over and introduced himself and then told me that he would be changing to a woman in a few months. I was like cool.. make yourself happy.

The guy is married and she's staying with him. And I think he cut his dick off too.

I think it's possibly some kind of mental illness, but I know that isn't a popular opinion.

but on the topic.....tattooing, piercing, those changing their bodies to become a cat or a lizard or whatever.....your body is yours....do what you want with it and to it......if it is not hurting anyone or anything else, and that is my stance on the subject.
I dislike jenner for other reasons now that have nothing to do with what he is doing to his own body.
