The word trite does not match the level of my contribution by definition but the fact is your words supply every accounting you are making on the subject. Trite then has more to do with your observations than mine as they have nothing to do with his efforts, deserving is an opinion which is overused and neglectful of any objectively verifiable element. In this thread the exact opposite opinion is offered by multiple persons to characterize how he is acting. Cosmetic surgery is often specifically chosen for the exact purpose of being seen. Maybe it would have been just as well had you not reserved your good graces for someone who can't respond to you. Then maybe someone could thank you for sharing your time with them and be you could be acknowledged with the appreciation you think your comment deserves. Then again maybe not. From this end it appears that you can appreciate an act at a distance much more readily than having someone share their time with you which is the most precious commodity we all have and includes our every proportion in attendance. Regardless you have my glad attention although i wouldn't call it deserved but congenial.

Totally cute...I saw someone with one of these dogs today, and some day i would love to have one.....reminds me of Champy, who I miss terribly here still....Champy loved me so much and his love still surrounds me here....I still cry........but i just cheered myself up talking to my little green parakeet. I talk to him and he tilts his head so cutely and I mirror him and he puts his head all the way down to the side....he is so sweet and adorable...i never chatted with a parakeet before with body languayge he is the first one.
    His name is Sweetpea. :)

I love pets. There was a cat at work today, Willow was her name. I kept sneaking her treats.

How long have you had Sweetpea? Is he a new addition to the family?

not even a year yet....6 months maybe. I thought Sweetpea was going to be a girl. He is not....so I have 2 male parakeets.....Sweetpea cages with Sunshine, another male that is so pale yellow, with tuorquoise back tail feathers.....He was my favorite bird until Sweetpea stold my heart away.....and he did.....love that bird.
Sunshine stays in the back looking scared of me....like every other parakeet I ever had....besides Lucy, who broke her leg, and after bathing her every day, she and I bonded. Loved her, too.

There is a thread called blue bird is dieing in the pets section about them, and I grabbed this photo from there, when Sweetpea first came here in March of this year.....so i have had him about 4 months....hard to keep track of all of these pets here and their arrival dates and things like that.

It started with a french bull dog and evolved...I don';t really want to talk about transgenders. I don't judge what people want to do with their own bodies, and i really don't care. It does not affect me one way or the other, so I am off this thread now....yeah, weird place to be discussing pets.....for sure.

One more time... This thread wasn't supposed to be judging people it's about having an open and honest discussion so these people can get the help they need without the PC police shutting down one side of the debate. But i'm not sure anyone other than Sleeping_Caterpiller understood that point.

Oh well, fun was had by all, right?

Who is the PC police? I have nothing to say about the debate. i wish them all of the luck to do what they want to do to their own bodies. What more can i say on the subject? I am happy as who I was born as....and if others are not, then I feel sadly for them....I have no idea why people do what they do.... or why.....but as long as they are not hurting anyone or anything else, who cares?

It's not the people with the disorder that are hurting anyone directly, it's the people that throw labels around like hateful and bigot towards those that think it's a mental and not a physical issue. And if it is a mental issue then pretending the behavior is normal is harming the people with the disorder. This is about the 3rd or 4th time I've made this point.

It is not clear that a mental issue is in any way removed from a physical issue. Maybe if you continue dice and slice enough beyond 3 or 4 times you can scatter the pieces in a disorderly fashion and reassemble them in any order you like. I think if you directly proposed to a transgender that they had a disorder they would be somewhat less than flattered. There is no behavior that is not included in the sphere of the universal normal. All things extant are legitimately so. Not everything is helpful and helpful is a matter of timing and desired aim. There is no standard metric called harm. Harm is a personal claim that could be made about any circumstance and if you never made a claim on harm it wouldn't change any circumstance but you wouldn't be subjecting yourself to unnecessary added insult.

The happy are no less caring than the miserable. Other than that I can't think of any names.
