CONCLUSIONS: Our results confirmed previously reported deviances of brain activation patterns in transsexual men from men without GID and also corroborated these findings in a group of transsexual patients receiving cross-sex hormone therapy. The present study indicates that there are a priori differences between men and transsexual patients caused by different neurobiological processes or task-solving strategies and that these differences remain stable over the course of hormonal treatment.

So in layman's terms what I'm reading is this: there are differences between GID and non GID male brain patterns. However, thanks to the other articles provided me by Heat, there are also differences between people with other disorders such as bipolar and schizophrenia. So once again not definitively female. Also, the end sentence seems to suggest that hormone therapy offers so change in the patients neurological condition.

That seems to back up my contentions that
    a. GID is a real mental disorder.
    b. there needs to be more research done to know wether or not these differences can be attributed to potentially female thought patterns
    c. that surgery and hormone therapy are not adequate treatments

So I'm not quite sure what about these neurological articles was supposed to change my mind.

Is that like guess your motives? I can't give you reason but I can give you some raisins which aren't logical of themselves but perhaps could be a topic of some logical objective.

Ya know, I'll be the first to say, "If it's not harming others, it's not my place to judge." If a man feels for whatever reason that he wants to dress, act, and live like a typical lady, he's not harming me or anyone else. If that's what makes him happy, do it. There's too much sadness and negativity in this world.

I heard people mention that they feel society is more accepting of gay individuals now. I don't know that I agree with that. Yes, we legalized gay marriage. Yes, people seem to show more tolerance nowadays, but there are a lot of judgmental, hateful people too. I grew up experiencing hate and a lot of people were not tolerant of me when they found out I was pansexual. I was bullied severely, resulting in major depressive disorder, anxiety, and attempted suicide at the age of 12. I was not happy with myself for being different, for feeling the way I did, and I thought the world would be better off without me. I went through a lot of pain, and that's why I feel like there's no reason to be hateful or judgmental of someone for being transgender or different in any way so long as they aren't hurting others.

    Just my two cents.

I feel like so many people that responded to this thread didn't fully read the OP and didn't think about the arguments I was making, or the questions i was asking before they responded. Just read the title and posted, or read a later post, *cough* jacob *cough* and got upset and posted.

Oh well, good times were had by all, right?
