Any bans or restrictions on assault weapons are destined to be struck down by the courts.

Restrictions on magazine size may pass in some states, but are unlikely to see the light of day in rural western/southern states.

It is possible that we will see red flag legislation and more comprehensive background checks at the federal level, but probably only after the courts begin enforcing the Second Amendment seriously so that no one fears further government abuses.

I don't know. If someone had a lever-action .30-30 that didn't take detachable magazines at all, or only had four round magazines for their rifle, it would probably limit the carnage that they could inflict with their rifle.

 

That is incorrect. Rights can be restricted only if there is a good justification for the restriction.

The fact that there is no justification for banning assault weapons means that the Second Amendment forbids any such bans.

Any restrictions on magazine size that are tied to a ban on assault weapons are likely to be struck down as well, as collateral damage when the associated ban on assault weapons is struck down.

Why are people too dumb to figure out all you have to do to get around strict gun laws in a city is to drive outside said city .

From what I'm getting from the article, he basically ruled that it would be up to individual states to define "large capacity" if they decided to institute a ban

 

Have you ever watched the opening of The Rifleman?

 

Lever action rifles uses more or less the same loading system as modern day pump action shotguns and pumps have been used in several notable mass shootings such as the Navy Yard shooting. Also while bolt actions in a mass shooting scenario aren't ideal, they were at one point the standard issue rifle of the infantry.
