Now THIS is what you should shoot for, OP.

And that doesn't mean copy his letter. Write something original and intelligent that fits your situation and properly addresses it. Your parents will know if you jack someone elses writing, you live with them.

Not to make assumptions about you.... but, just sayin'.

    :2thumbsup: I agree Roo...

Teenagers need to understand that blaming people for what's wrong with them isn't really the way to be.

My father and I hated each other when I was growing up...we didn't talk for almost 5 years and every time we did talk, it turned into a huge fight of some sort and we'd go another 6-7 months without so much as a phone call.

I blamed him for EVERYTHING. I blamed him for the reason I was emotionally closed-off, why I couldn't keep a boyfriend, why I was insecure...you name it, it was HIS fault.

Once I grew up and started developing the independence I needed to succeed in life, I realized that all of those issues were MY fault and I found ways to resolve them myself. I stopped blaming my father and began really appreciated the lessons he did teach me throughout my life.

Now, my father is gone and I have to live with knowing that I spent 5 years hating him and wishing him dead (a few years ago...not recently)

So I guess the point of this extremely long post is this...don't hate your parents for trying to help you succeed in life. Don't blame them for all of YOUR personality flaws. They could be gone tomorrow, then how would you feel?

Very reasonable. I'd be proud if I was your parents.

it was pretty ballsy of him to put "long thread" in the title, but it appears that the prophesy is being fulfilled.

I thought it was good. Better than anything I could write.
