amazing song, one of my favorites, right up there with within you without you and while my guitar gently weeps. does that picture have a connection with the song or just a random find?
Actually I went to Google Images and typed in Lucy in the Sky and that was one of the images. I thought it was cool - Tangerine Trees and Marmalade Skys - Nice.
i got a book for christmas called the beatles illustrated lyrics, and john lennon said that that song is about a picture his son drew in school, john asked what it was and he said it was 'lucy in the sky with diamonds' lucy was his school mate it said . i heard in a lot of places it was about acid but that's what a lot of people say about a lot of things... maybe it's both good photo though.
yea, i heard it was about acid too Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. wasn't it banned from radio because poeple thought it was about lsd?
Those are some awesome pics; the eye one is pretty trippy, and I LOVE the "Bill&Hill" pic, really shows that they were people once, before they became politicians, lol

Thank you OldWaterBrother. We do agree on this. We must keep Kent State alive so it never happens again. I don't know if anyone has done a thread on Kent State - but it should be done. How many of our younger brothers and sisters have not heard of this abomination?
I have no time now - but briefly - On May 4 1970, armed National Guard troops were sent in to Kent State University to maintain order should there be any violence. This was shortly after bombing Cambodia and there were many protest across the country. These weekend warriors paniced and shot dead 4 innocent students - who by the way were just observers. There was no violence nor hint of violence - but 4 of our children lay dead and 9 were wounded. No soldier, or superior or government official was ever held accountable. Look for pictures and story on the internet. Re: Kent State Massacre. After the massacre colleges and universities across the nation were shut down by enraged students.
Here’s a list of those killed and wounded at Kent State. Killed (and approximate distance from the National Guard): Jeffrey Glen Miller 265 ft (81 m) shot through the mouth - killed instantly Allison Krause 343 ft (105 m) fatal left chest wound William Knox Schroeder 382 ft (116 m) fatal chest wound Sandra Lee Scheuer 390 ft (120 m) fatal neck wound (Two of the four students killed, Allison Krause and Jeffrey Miller, had participated in the protest, and the other two, Sandra Scheuer and William Knox Schroeder, had been walking from one class to the next at the time of their deaths. Schroeder was also a member of the campus ROTC chapter.) Wounded (and approximate distance from the National Guard): Joseph Lewis Jr. 71 ft (22 m); hit twice in the right abdomen and left lower leg John R. Cleary 110 ft (34 m); upper left chest wound Thomas Mark Grace 225 ft (69 m); struck in left ankle Alan Canfora 225 ft (69 m); hit in his right wrist Dean Kahler 300 ft (91 m); back wound fracturing the vertebrae - permanently paralyzed from the chest down Douglas A. Wrentmore 329 ft (100 m); hit in his right knee James Dennis Russell 375 ft (114 m); hit in his right thigh from a bullet and in the right forehead by birdshot - both wounds minor {died 2007} Robert F. Stamps 495 ft (151 m); hit in his right buttock {died June 11, 2008} Donald Scott MacKenzie 750 ft (230 m); neck wound The above picture shows Mary Ann Vecchio, at the body of the dead student, Jeffrey Miller. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootings
Thank you OBW for your background on Kent State. I was pulling from memory and my memory is not what it used to be. The deaths of those children was the biggest tragedy - but the fact that armed troops were sent into a University campus - where exchange of ideas and intellectual freedom are at the very core of the institution - Was also a travesty which must never happen again. This massacre is what is referred to in "Crosby, Stills & Nash" song - "4 Dead In Ohio"
