Hello to everyone. Btw...it's 32 years now. Same van, same grumpy old fart driving it. I appreciate the fact that people have still been reading this thread and seem to like it even without all the pics. Anyhoo...I thought that I would post an update. Changes are afoot...I bought some dirt. Spent 3/4 of my life savings on 3.03 acres of dirt. My rainy day fund is now just misty day fund. Oh well. I could have gotten a lot more acreage if I had been willing to go farther out of town, but at 9 mpg, the cost of living would be so much higher. Plus, the cost of having anything trucked out to the property would have been way more expensive. I'm happy. Be happy for me.
Hey Orison. Good to see you too. Newbie-one, the police were never able to prove that there was foul play involved. I don't believe there was...if I hadn't thought that it was a cut and dried case of suicide, I wouldn't have reported it. Here's something interesting though, one of the County Mounties that showed up at the scene is now the Sheriff of the County.
I'm certainly going to get more dogs, but it'll all depend on what's at the pound. I like rescues. I'm also partial to mutts, being one myself. High country, yes. Elevation: 5425 at the road, 5465 at the top of my hill.
Sounds real nice. I lived just south of the Cache Le Poudre Canyon in Colorado. Actually I lived on the north rim of the canyon too. In Fort Collins it is 5280 ft elevation. In the Canyon we were between 7 & 8000 ft. Look up Catahula Hounds at your pound or rescue. They are just awesome and a lot of people get them because they have blue eyes then can't handle the high energy. So the Catahula ends up at the ASPCA or Animal Control Pound. But, they are great and tough and they can handle a bear or a mountain lion. I used to camp all over northern Colorado and my Catahulas protected my kid when we panned for gold along the streams. They can get to be a hundred pounds so big but not too big like a Rot. They are super loyal and super tough. Again, Congrats on your new home!
Stormmountainman, Thanks for the info. I'll check with all the pounds in my area and see if they have any when I get settled. Hey skip. Good to be anywhere at my age. Mallyboppa, you can't see the pic? Anyone else having that problem?
Please refresh and see if it appears now. (What a bozo...I had it set as "private.") Dirt 'n' trees by TwoDogs posted Jul 27, 2018 at 9:26 AM
