Wir sind von Dir sehr enttäuscht

Disappointment always sounds more serious and/or worse in German.

I've been watching a TV series from the early 1960s; THE NAKED CITY. Each episode has a unique cast and I find myself more curious about some of the featured actors. Some of the names are big; Robert Redford, Suzanne Pleshette, and some are not so big.
I usually turn to the Wiki or IMDB synopses of their lives and some of these performers have come from beginnings that were either humble our out-and-out batsh*t crazy. I marvel at some of these people who overcame family that were disappointed that the actor didn't take a more conventional job. "We are very disappointed in you."
I'm glad my family had low expectations for me. They seemed genuinely relieved to learn that I had real, live friends rather than the usual imaginary ones that didn't speak English. Oh, and that I learned how to cook and could make a pretty mean tuna broccoli casserole.
