When Your Lifelong Friend Leaves (My Private Lady Baltimore Revisited)

She appeared at the dinner party after the meal had ended and coffee with cannoli were offered.

Lady Baltimore was a friend of mine since we were in our late teens. She had just turned 64 when she passed away in January of 2024. All of my friends on social media were aware of her passing. How couldn't they have been ? We were in constant contact; with calls to one another at least twice daily.
My hostess sensed her presence. And she said things that were very random and extremely on-point. She asked me if I had dreams about her. I have. She asked me if Lady Baltimore were silent in the dreams. She had been. I was told that Lady Baltimore needs a push to go on her way, and I was told that we should light a candle for her.
I imagined my hostess were going to retrieve bedroom candles for us to light. She asked me if Lady Baltimore were Roman. She was. So, I was told, we need to do this candle lighting at a church. And, as it so happened, my hostess had the webpage to the church open on her computer
( https://www.saintteresaofavilala.com/ ) if you must know.
"How odd," I told the hostess. "Teresa was Lady Baltimore's middle name." (Of course, her version of T(h)eresa had the H that had no affect on the pronunciation of the T).
This clearly disturbed my hostess. She said that the webpage had been open before I even arrived. Before she even sensed the presence of Lady Baltimore in the room, she felt the need to look at the website. Some Romans tend to gravitate towards specific saints and martyrs. It's not part of my culture, religious belief, or spirituality, but I understand the allure and attraction.
We have yet to make a planned date to do this. There is no rush since Lady Baltimore now has eternity. I was, however, glad that her presence was felt by someone :)
