The difference between 181 and 178

If you are thinking mathematically, you would most likely say, "Three!"
But, this isn't a mathematical question. It's a psychological question. The metrics unit attached to those two numbers is pounds. I grew up with the American scale of pounds. And these days I am focused on (my) weight loss journey. I have been on this path many times, however this is supposed to / destined to be the last time.
Unlike cigarette smoking or alcohol consumption, weight loss by means of diet and exercise is not always easy to be vigilantly maintained. I mean, after all, you have to eat in order to live. You can certainly lie well for the rest of your life without tobacco or alcohol. I think of the pounds in groups of tens. They live with me as decades. (I started the journey in the 220s and today I am at 178). Crossing from 180 into the 170s was the longest undertaking and many times the weight would just yoyo back and forth or up and down between that range. It shouldn't, but for some reason it seems like insurmountable hurdle. Logically, I know they are just numbers and--if they were converted to kilograms would be 82,1 and 80,7.
In addition, April is birthmonth for me which means that I allow myself to go a little wild with food. Why this past weekend I had an RB sandwich with curly fries and mozzarella sticks from Arby's. Those three things together were a day's worth of calories.
This obsession will end when I hit 150. They I will focus on staying there.
