Spring Ahead

"In 2026, Daylight Saving Time (DST) will begin on March 8 at 2 a.m. local
time, when clocks will spring forward one hour.
This change will result in
more evening daylight and less morning darkness.
DST will end on November1, when clocks will fall back one hour at 2 a.m. local time."

Personally, I never understood this nonsense. Why not just keep the clock set to whatever time (say standard time) and just change the hours of businesses?

What bothers me most these days is that I am now invested in one of these dumb-a** Dick Tracey watches that can only be time adjusted when synchronized to a cellular phone through one of those QR thingies. I hate putting applications on my phone and I delete QR thingies as soon as their usefulness has been completed.
