Mating for Life

Sometimes I'm inspired to do a web browsed search for random thoughts that pop into my head. In a weekend moment before midnight, I typed "animals that made for life list".
On the list that caught my eye, I found 29 animals listed. Sometimes there are only subspecies that fall into the category such as the Australian Seahorses (Hippocampus whitei) versus your rank-and-file seahorse.
Then I wondered if there is a list of animals known for their same sex pairing. I shied away from anything that referred to the animals as being gay. 14 Homosexual Species In The Animal Kingdom You Never Knew - Facts.net
Rams made the list. YEAH! My horoscope sign! But one of the funniest lines to me was about the giraffe. "The male giraffes are found to engage in exceptional frequencies of homosexual behavior. They start with vigorous necking then proceed to caress and court each other."
Invariably, I am asked about my score card in the LTR department. I had--in my younger years--attempted to partner on three occasions; Stephen, Michael, and David. Each abandoned me. One and three refused to reconnect with friendship. The second one attempted to make amends and he even invited me to vacation with him for a week. It was a disaster on oh so many levels, but not a subject of conversation for here.
As an adult? My interest in partnering is more in line with finding a good friend who might be there in thick and thin. That doesn't occur too often. At least, not if there isn't an exchange of something of value. I've never been a person of means so that usually falls the wayside.
I haven't given up on the possibility, but I don't put much stock into it.
