Her face was Déjà vu

Have you ever worked with someone who reminded you of someone else? Have you ever worked with someone who reminded you of someone else whom you absolutely hated? I sure have. For a little over a year, I was stuck in a team with a Type A personality; in everyone's business, having everyone look at her work, and void of any sense of modesty. "Look at me! Look at what I've done! Listen to my tales!"
I'll never forget a job I had in San Francisco in a tiny office where the bookkeeper fancied herself the office manager. She called herself the Controller. Shouldn't that have given it away? She was married to a coast guard captain and she was an anorexic hillbilly. I don't mean hillbilly in a negative sense; she tried to be sophisticated but failed miserably.
The first year I was there she invited me and my close co-worker to dinner at her home in Mill Valley. I had total dread over what was to come. "She'll starve us! She will serve us portions from the kitchen and bring the plate to the table and it will have those meager Protestant portions!" Well, the portions were small but the plate was neatly arranged. White meat, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. They also decided to burn a log. it was eucalyptus. I was deathly allergic and fortunately had to leave early.
The only time I experienced a worse Thanksgiving than that was when I decided to feed the poor at Hollywood Presbyterian Church. The poor can be mean, nasty, and demanding. And since I'm not Christian, I don't feel compelled to conform to a behavior that isn't part and parcel of my culture.
But back to the Déjà vu. This woman has the same high pitched voice, asks way too many questions at meetings, likes to show off what she knows and is disliked by most people she knows. Thankfully, when she brings in food thinking she can buy love that way, it's usually something that isn't part of my diet or something that makes me say, "Ick!"
Want to guess her name? She only uses a nick name (variation of her real name). Both choices are not particularly pretty, IMHO.
