Blogging vs Foruming

Historically I have kept a number of journals. Most of them were chronological and did not have restrictions as to content. At one point in my life, I did burn about a half dozen of them because I had let myself go totally uncensored and I had feared that these may fall into the wrong hands.
My journal writing captures my experiences, observations, or opinions. Sometimes I attach images or links to other websites. Since the writing is for my eyes and uses my language (as it has personally evolved for me), I don't necessarily accept or welcome "corrections" or any sort of extensive commentary.
The forum--to my way of thinking--is a website or section thereof that's used for public discussion of a specific topic. Users are free to submit their own messages or read messages that others have written. Here, for example, the forums take on the format of discussion groups that are maintained the website. It's more of a message board for registered users.
Throughout the days of my life, i heard phrases or complete thoughts that seem noteworthy of capture at some point. I don't always a pen and paper handy, so I will occasionally send a text message from a cellular phone to the voicemail of a landline with the phrase, or tagline, or gist of what was meant.
I don't do much here in the way of forum writing. My contributions may include "hip" news that is current (it is always delightful to know that hippie stuff still hits the news) or I might post a personals ad or request housework. Because this webpage is international, I don't necessarily ind a large number of people from my neighborhood.
My blog gets edited. And as I have posted in the past, please don't get bent out of shape if you find your comments are gone. I don't post for large commentary. If I had a question, I know I could post it in the forums. If I wanted advice from someone, I would probably send him a singular ping in the form of private conversation.
