> $31 for water? What up with that?

I've reached the point in life where I no longer save the receipts from my credit card purchases. The amounts are generally small numbers and the vendors are usually easily identifiable.

I looked up the vendor on the Internet. It is a smoke shop that also sells filtered water for refilling one's bottles. I buy two packs of smokes for a friend of mine lives on food stamps. Tobacco is not considered a food product. Curiously, both she and I met in the master's program for public health.

Today as I reviewed my blog entries I sometimes wonder if more needs to be added. I do edit some posts and sometimes I will create a new post on the same subject and simply label the work as "Revisited".

This one troubles me more than most. I have brought this friend food and I have also presented her with unusual alcoholic beverages that she probably would not have gotten on her own such as dandelion wine, Sabra liqueur, or mead. I've never brought pot for her and I have never asked about her use/history. In fact, the only time I have ever picked up anything from the GREEN CROSS, I have given it to friends who I know use it.

Strange how tobacco has become so demonized and yet it is still sold in oh so many places (including a store that sells purified water).
