¿Vas a Barcelona? Ojalá pudiese estar contigo.

A lifelong friend (and partial lifelong friend) of mine are on their ways (separately) to Barcelona. It is the their first destination as they travel through different parts of Europe (one by land and one by sea). Would I like to be there with you? ¡ Sí señor y señora !

Sometimes I think about the travels of others. I have two friends who don't know each other who have begun October travels beginning in Barcelona. One is headed on a Mediterranean cruise and the other is going to visit cities in Spain and Portugal. I've never been (even though I speak Spanish). If Spain happens one day in my life, I shrug. It's never been on my bucket list. The Inquisition put nasty taste in my mouth (which is strange considering how much time I have spent in Germany and Austria).

These days I don't have any international travel on my RADAR. I'd like to see Ireland and Scotland and I would love to one day make it to Israel. Now, however, isn't exactly the best time for that. I've seen most things in the USA that are of interest to me. I don't drink, I'm not a big fan of spending lots of time outside (except for urban walking) and I'm fussy about what I like to eat or am willing to consider eating.

Still, I do keep the passport current. You never know when someone might want a travel companion to Paris!
