I assume that most on this site know that the media is fake....and we all know many who believe it!!

I think it would be a good idea to compile evidence on this thread for those who believe MSM!

Here is a good link to start with!

The world of television and modern media has become a tool of de-evolution, propaganda and social control. Since the reign of Edward Bernays and the rise of the Tavistock Institute in the early 20th century, nearly unlimited resources have been applied to understanding how to manipulate the human psyche through television and other forms of mass media. What we have today is an increasingly sophisticated full-spectrum assault on free will and psychological well-being, and we have come to a point where it is no longer even necessary for media institutions to attempt to hide their blatant work of manipulating public opinion, manufacturing consent, and creating winners and losers in the minds of the already brain-washed public. Here is a great movie showing how with CGI they can make ANYTHING THEY WANT appear!

That's why I'm going to be a bit dubious if we ever in fact land on Mars or on the other side of the moon like we've been told by 2020. With the CGI I just won't be sure and I can't take it for granted any longer.

How is tv an assault on free will if we are watching it out of free will (or not)? Is somebody making you watch tv over there or something?

I don't think it's a question of an assault on free will. But there is a kind of feeling I get from a lot of media, esp. news media, that what is being presented in the way of comment is presented as though it were a kind of consensus to which any sensible person or normal person would subscribe. Of course, that is going to have an effect on public opinion even though it's only the view of the editors/owners of the media in question.

Do they seek consciously to manipulate public opinion? I think so.
For instance powerful newspaper magnates like the Murdoch's ensure that their papers always reflect the political opinion or vested interest of the Murdoch's.
Repetition of the same message over and over may well result in a kind of Pavlovian conditioning effect.

Even if it doesn't create people's views, it probably does reinforce them in the direction desired.

The assault is not overt as you propose. It's covert, also known as subliminal suggestion. For examples click here.

You may not be technically forced to watch tv, but it's ubiquitous and completely agenda driven.  If you want news or entertainment in video form, the attack is there.
