you guys must watch this movie. it is very enlightening. i don't want to say too much about it cuz i don't really know what to say and it'll make it sound "conspiracy theory" but it is very believable. WATCH IT http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/main.htm
Full of inaccuracies and downright falsehoods. In the religion section, the bit comparing religions and showing how they're all the same has some shocking lies presented as fact... The stuff about banking is legit but surely most people know that anyway?? I won't talk about 9/11 as that's a whole other thread.. Good to open your eyes if you've always been asleep I suppose but to anyone who takes an interest in how the world works it's old hat. Good to turn you on but dig deeper
Agreed. The bit about Krishna being born to a virgin? WTF? Krishna was the 8th son to Devaki
i'm not sure about all the deities they claimed in that part of the movie, at least the ones not from the near/middle east/mediterranean but a lot of those characteristics are true edit: 1. i'm not defending this movie 2. it's been a while since i've seen the movie 3. the above is based on my academic study of religion (which is, granted, still in its infancy, but is academic study nonetheless) 4. my studies came before i saw the movie 5. i guess i'm still open to the fact that everything i've learned so far in academia could be bullshit, but i'm leaning towards not
It is rather interesting... I was actually speaking with my uncle about something similar the other day. Around major cities (we were speaking of NYC), there are lines around the city which, in the event of a biological attack, people would not be allowed to cross in attempts to contain the spread of disease. And if someone were to attempt to cross one of these lines, it is a shoot to kill policy. Hearing this has already made me stock up as I live at the boarder of the last line.. Not that I am an alarmist or paranoid, but because I have always been one who likes being prepared for the worst... Maybe it's the Eagle Scout in me. hahah.
ok i'm not religious anyways, so honestly i don't care much about that part. i am spiritual at time, enough to save my soul, i dunno the part i am concerned with is CAN WE ACTUALLY GET AWAY WITH NOT PAYING TAXES? even so, most employers take them out automatically so you would still lose that money. also the fucking implanted chips!? even i thought that was a little far fetched.
i just looked up some info on Krishna...indeed the eighth son, but still believed to have been conceived without sexual union. so i guess virgin is incorrect, but still very similar
Not exactly similar, only in the sense of immaculate conception. But if your going to make such a bold statement, especially in a film that's supposed to gain trust and open minds, it's always better to be accurate as similar is not exact and it's misleading. Not to mention that not everyone believes that Krishna was born that way, and not every Hindu even believes that Krishna was every anything more than a metaphor through the Bhagavad Gita in order for people with limited intelligence to grasp the Absolute Form. It is Vaishnava's who believe that Krishna was the real deal anyway, which is just a sect of Hinduism. And comparing Krishna and Jesus in the light that film does is showing desperation, if you ask me.
I dont know, I mean it's worth watching at least once. They make some good points in the second half. It's just that the first half is meant entirely to break up the 'Son of God' mentality which anyone with half a brain already knows it's bullshit, and therefor it's pointless to watch becase A.) Smart people already have realized the facade of an elitist God and magical Jew who raises the dead and B.) The Christians who really believe that crap arent going to be swayed by a movie made by horrible producers.
Nagh, there are a few movies "out there", that i'm just not going to waste my time and energy on. "loose change" being another. I've read enough to know neither is really worth it, I've just lost all interest.
The immaculate conception refers to the Virgin Mary being born without original sin. not the virgin birth.
