Is there a specific story or meaning behind it, or is it merely something you created on the spot?

As for me, it relates to the Marvel character. I could not choose my favorite character, Storm, because that is always taken. Therefore, I chose the next best thing.

When I joined hip forums It just popped into my head.It has two connections for me.Firstly "Fairlight" was a really nice fantasy computer game on an old computer from the 1980s called the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.This computer only had 48k of RAM and seven colors but what the programmers squeezed out of it was amazing.Secondly, the "Fairlight" was a great synthesizer from the eighties used by one of my favorite bands from that era Scritti Politti,which roughly means "political writing" in Italian.

 

It's my Holy Name.

 

I was reading the forums for a few weeks before I registered. When I finally decided to sign up, I went through several names that were all taken. Finally I tried Spectacles and it was apparently unique enough to register.


Spectacles was the name of the first dog I had as an adult. When he was a puppy he had circles around his eyes and it looked like he was wearing glasses. We ended up calling him Specs.

 

When I first saw your username It I thought It was Placido Domingo,the opera singer lol.
