is there such a thing? man, the PMs i get, the boys that chase peeps around looking for a chink in the armor, the way...nevermind...this place looks like a craigslist R & R. there's a big difference between practicing free-speech (which real hippies advocate) and being a hippy. buncha posers. (not you, the posers)
ok, it looks like this is my private lil gripe thread. that works. i'll just bring my frustration here instead of messing up someone's thread. another thing. i'll talk about anything with anybody, but please, don't presume to think you can advise(control) someone about something when he/she has been doing that "something" longer than you've been out of diapers. i mean that about real-life too. we used to listen and learn, it worked pretty good for us.
agreed, Any Color You Like, and that works for me. i know you guys'll figure it out, it's just difficult for me to watch the process. mightn't it be a bit easier without the anger? i guess what i'm saying is "why label yourself something if you're not?" wanting to be is not the same as being. ps-witty "sig" you got there
you cant assume that just because we are one generation that makes us all the same. that would be like saying that everyone in your generation was a hippie, and they weren't. how do you know there's not a young hippie out there? do you know every single person in the world? im sorry but i hate when pple make a general assumption based on pop culture and mass media.
Actually, I believe that he was basing his conclusion off of the people who post here, not pop culture and mass media. But regardless, augidog, get over it. No one here is a "hippie." A hippie is a lame stereotype. Just because the name of the forum is "Young Hippies" doesn't mean we're labeling ourselves as hippies; it's just the name of the stupid forum. There are a lot of people here, however, who are quite open-minded and who really do have grievances with the world. Besides, the real posers were most of the supposed "real" hippies of the '60s! Do you honestly think that most of them really believed in anything they said? Give me a break, they're all out driving around in their SUV's now. If you think we're a bunch of posers, fine, I don't think anyone here is going to lose any sleep over it. No one's keeping you here, after all. If the conversations here don't get you off, you're free to leave and indulge in hippie stereotypes any time you please.
ok, i found the thread. sorry skip, i misconstrued the "to all members" caption. i appreciate a heads-up moddie, thanks for making the move for me. look, this wasn't an attack on young people, it just happened the title was how i was feeling at the moment. if i had originally posted in here i wouldn't have used that title. by my own internal definition of what i think a young hippy is, in real-life i've met plenty. and there's nothing to get over, man, because all i was doing was stating my opinion, and i was trying to do it without including insults like "you moron" or "dumbass" in the preamble. i see a lot of that here, not cool, imo. shoot, peeps, i like this place...i outgrew "screw u guys, i'm going home" a long time ago. it's all good, the posers (of all ages) i was addressing will know who they are. like i sed: (not you, (but) the posers) and...i might have one too many once in a while, i'll have to keep an eye on that
Man you gotta be shittin' me? I mean, this is a terrible thread for a 49 yr old. Posers... now that is a very funny adjective to be using, especially after living for 49 whole years. I will try not to sound so harsh but... I sure hope God (in any image you want...) gives you a swift kick in the ass in the near future... How can one even GIVE A FUCK about other people trying to be something they're not... you are something you aren't my friend... Do you think it's because you love having the title of "hippie"? ... Does that simple 6-letter word warm your heart every time someone says it? In all of those 49 years have you never thought about putting all of that behind? The one with the problem is you, not the posers... that's a different thing they have plenty of time to learn to correct... There is no genuine or fake hippie... both are fake beings that give themselves reasons to be... Kind of like people in the days wanted to believe the Earth was flat but were aware of the different possibilities and neglected them simply because... they were something, they had a stupid certitude built up to the fact that EVERYTHING ELSE, was wrong... everything else didn't matter, just like fakes dont matter to you, or other perceptions or feelings. Being something... precise or not so precise, fills any human soul with importance and gives them reason to be. A religious preacher caught in its prayers and community work, like you hippies probably hate so much, is just as hypocritical as you are for blinding his own self... ahaha...ahahhaha... woah... to me it appears you have never even seen nor been. The proper question you should've asked was a simple but sweet "why label yourself???..." how can one label himself a hippie, and actually be a hippie? Is it because he was born to smoke weed? because he was born to care about the environment? Were all of his genes and DNA matched for him to be the perfect little hippie? No, it was simply a chain of events in the person's life that added up to form a perception on things that arent "real"... but simply making a new perception off of things that matter even less then what he is... Besides, we all are already, and being a hippie or a "fake" in the terms you seem to love so much, are just clouds of illusions that float around our self, to be something more then the absolute. Stop caring... stop feeling offended about the "fake beings"... and maybe you'll actually find your self someday. pretending to be, is not the same as being either.'' Just likes there's a big difference betweein being a hippy, and simply being. -lol i just gotta add... I love the way you give terms such as "real" to the word "hippie"... just reading those 2 words shows ignorance in one's mind. If you truely were a open-minded person... when you're more open-minded then open-minded hippies... you will no longer be a hippie... and those terms like real, or genuine, or even hippie, will ring false to your ears just like the annoying noise of a neighbor mowing its lawn at dinner time.
If this is supposed to be (patronising) advice: a) You suck at it. b) Nobody cares about what you have to say anyway. If this is supposed to mock us: a) You suck at it. b) Nobody cares about what you have to say anyway.
a) you prove my main point b) i already knew that i didn't originally post this in here, it was moved here. i'll deal with it, you do the same.
