im pretty sure this is some form of metaphor for doing drugs In the town where I was born lived a man who sailed to sea. ( a man who got high a lot?) And he told us of his life in the land of submarines. (the land of doing drugs) So we sailed up to the sun till we found the sea of green. (we got high till we found more weed..or something) And we lived beneath the waves in our yellow submarine. (we live underground doing drugs) We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine And our friends are all on board, many more of them live next door. (our friends joined us or did the same) And the band begins to play. (we played some music...) We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. And we live a life of ease. Everyone of us has all we need. (we live a life of ease, with lots of weed) Sky of blue, and sea of green, in our yellow submarine. ( sea of green or field of weed!?!!?!) We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine. We all live in a yellow submarine. its probably already been mentioned by many but i want to know what everyone else thinks.
btw- donovan came up with this line..."Sky of blue, and sea of green, in our yellow submarine." and it was written as a chidrens song for ringo to sing cause ringo liked kis and they gave him a song on about each album if you look at it...
yellow submarine is an alright song but is definatley not one of the beatle's best songs. its definatley overplayed... but the movie kicks ass
in the town i was born lived a man who sailed to sea .yellow submarine trippy tune .love it /peace/...............
Never really noticed any of that... but I'm sure, that if you really over-analyzed all of their songs, you could come to the conclusion that they're all about drugs.
no, i don't think it's about drugs at all. i think those are pretty lame metaphors. if you're gunna "uncover" a beatles song refrencing drugs, pick something more obvious. like, tomorrow never knows.
