I just talked to Woodstock. He had to go to Richwood to call on a pay
phone. No cell phones working at the Cranberry bog site. He said the
site is really small, there's wall to wall cars and bus village is
right on the road. He says a lot of people don't like the site, it's
really small. It is right on the road and people driving by can see
people on shitters. There is no parking. There's a small bus village
right next to main meadow - which can be seen from the highway. He
says you drive in and people are right there by Hwy 219 - you go in and
there's A camp and right around the corner is bus village and there's
not that much more room left - doesn't know where they are going to put
all the cars when people start showing up in the thousands. He says
some people want to stay but all the people he talked to said if
another site opened up they'd go there, if it doesn't they will stay.
He is going to go over to the Cheat Mountain site and any other site
tomorrow with Babz and check them out.

He says the cops are really bad - being real assholes - coming in swat
team style and on horses - couldn't find out what they are arresting
people for - big cop scene.

The cops smashed a girl's video camera on ground - lots of video
cameras there - when the action was going down, they wouldn't let
people go over there - blocked people from walking over to where things
were happening - bunch of cops standing there saying you can't go over
there - doing their dirty work without letting people see what is going
on - heavy handed. They tackled a sister and then found it wasn't the
person they were looking for.

It looks like a disaster team right across the road - at the nature
center - 20 or so emergency vehicles parked there and all over - up and
down the road - state cops, horse cops, LEO's

Kids that were questioning the cops - getting in their faces - cops
were getting down on them hard - cops smashing video cameras - He says
it's obvious the cops don't know how to handle this type of scene -
that he and others were trying to chill the scene. The cops who
tackled sister aren't allowed back - but there's a lot of upset energy

He says he wants to see everybody go to court house - wherever that is
- and for people to stop saying this is the site - that is the site -
and just stay where they are at until Tues after court and then have a
council after the court thing.

 

Whoa Buddy, not good...Masjor crazy rumor mill this year....Hope some more positive reports start coming in....

 

You know, I was there, and these rumors confuse me. I seen none of that in the short amount of time I was there, but then reading it makes me wonder if the short amount of time was just a lucky time. I don't think so, no one seemed hassled really, no one said anything and I was up at the main road for a bit waiting for my friend to come back.... I don't know, I can just say I didn't experience that... these rumors are making me crazy~! hehe

I'm heading back tomorrow.

Even though it's just a county from me, it's the farthest I've ever driven alone. And only my second gathering. I really wish all these rumors would just go away and people go on faith !!... or we know as best we can what's going on.

Hey thanks Advaya. My freinds and I really appericate you going to check it out. This is gonna be our first gathering (me and about 5 freinds).We really like good info and Agr seems like alot of second had info. Hard to know what to beleive. So keep it up. We're with you on that drive.

Woodstock just called. He's in Marlinton. He's setting up his computer
at the cyber cafe there which he says is across the street from
French's Diner. It's a coffee shop and a WIFI hot spot, open till 6pm.
He's sending some video files so I'll try to get those put up on my

He was up at Cheat Mountain and says that there had been about 150
people up there but now there's only about 20. He says the cop scene at
Cranberry is the worst he, personally, has ever seen. He said several
cameras were smashed. He saw the cops chasing a guy, the guy put his
hands up and the cops grabbed him and threw him down and then picked
him up and threw him down again. Stuff like that. He's sending videos.
I hope he got some good shots. There's an attorney named Les Blau who
is handling the case for the sister who got tackled (she had to have
stitches in her leg) - the "mistaken identity" thing. He wants to know
of any evidence of police brutality. I think stone is the one who got
in touch with him. His phone is 1-888-LESBLAU and his email is
LESBLAU@aol.com. Anyway, he's collecting harrassment evidence.

As far as the court thing tomorrow - it is definitely going to be at
the Nature Center at Cranbery. Woodstock talked to some FS and they
"oh, we passed the word around in the camps" - oh boy . . . .

I'm going to try to get some media people out there tomorrow and if
anyone else has media connections, I hope they will do the same thing.
Woodstock said he'd talk to them - he's in Bus Village with his van. I
guess that's it for now . . . . . peace&solidarity. . . . . .swan . . .

I used to live in Pocahontos County, WV. There were certainly some crooked cops there, so some of these stories certainly don't suprise me.

I'm curious if there has been any run ins with members of the National Alliance (nations largest white supremacists group), who's main property is located just outside of Marlinton. They caused quite a bit of trouble in the area when I lived down there.
