The misspellings (& the egos!) are worse than ever I'm sure.

A popular excuse is: 'English is my second language'.

    Already tried that one! ;)

Well as for English being a second language. MOST of the foreign types don't actually bother to learn it at all. They just speak American knowing they'll be understood most of the time. And yes, you'll find a few yank infiltrators, speaking of whom, WHERE IS SHARY BOBBINS??? And WHERE IS BLACKIE???

Well you can be an honorary Brit, as soon as you are able to use proper English spelling and grammar, and speak with one of the recognised British accents, or better yet, without an accent at all!

now just a quick reminder, since it's been a fair while...

    DEFINITELY!!!

those of you with twangs can learn to switch them on and off at will. It can be done, but don't use Ms Zellweger as an example - she overdid it by a mile. Very successful at hiding the twang and yankiness. But she went from one extreme to the other and it just didn't sound natural at all! Soho Journalists don't speak like the Queen you know!
