The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights presents an upcoming International Conference, entitled Building World Peace: The Role of Religions and Human Rights. The message we wish to convey about religion and human rights is the possibilities of their great positive impact on human relationships. Participants will explore the question of what role religions and human rights can play in the move towards Building World Peace. By offering a safe and inclusive platform, we hope to focus on the commonalities that make us all part of the larger human family. From the perspective of religious and human rights leaders, the Conference aims to: Ø Dismantle preconceived notions that hinder societal co-operation Ø Recognize the importance of educating our children, youth, and the general public against discriminatory practices, and Ø Build social bridges that will enhance life for all.
