whould you rather People automatically assume your gay or assume your straight and have to comeout to them?? I myself dont really like it when people tell me they thought i was gay because that implys that i act out of the ordinary and i dont think im any different then my Stright guy friends...
Most people automatically assume I'm straight which is OK out here in the bible belt backwoods. It kinda pisses me off though, that people make that kind of judgement because it really shouldn't matter. Yeah, OK, so I live in a fantasy world all my own but still...I try not to make any assumptions about other people cause you just never know.
- thats true it can really piss some people off - just ask them. Any way back to the topik - i would raver people assumed i was gay raver then just anougher guy looking for pussie. - But then again in some places it is often better for people to think you are straight. E.g. when trying to get a job or in a bar you have never been to etc.
I live in a metropolitan area with gay rights protected by law and a large gay population both outside and in the workplace. So it doesn't really matter whether they know I'm bi or not. I don't act particularly effiminate, and ppl know I was married and have grandkids so they may assume that I'm straight. Only the naive would consider that a criterion tho and urbane ppl know that I could be gay with that background. So to answer the question, it doesn't matter to me here. In the Bible-Belt Rednecdom I guess it's just jeans, plaid shirt, boots and cowboy hat. Oh, wait, ever since Brokeback Mountain (actually the Village Ppl) that doesn't always work anymore.
