modify your body because someone else wanted you to?

Get a piercing cos your friend thought it would look cool... that sorta thing??

I love nose rings on women, just small studs and though I think it would look hot on my girlfriend, I would never ask her to do it. Its her body and she should do whatever makes her happy with it.

No, certainly not! On the flip side I wouldn't take OUT a piercing if someone asked me to either. I had a boyfriend that asked me to remove my hood piercing.....no way. He also didn't like the idea of me getting my nose pierced and asked me not to do it. Ususally I'm very considerate of someone's feelings (esp someone I love) but when it comes to body mod I don't think anyone should dictate what you do or don't do. And I did pierce my nose and he hated it

However, come to think of it, if my boyfriend wanted to do something a little more extreme like tounge splitting or the like.....I'd probably not be to happy about that.

reason 1 : they wanna look better
reason 2 : they want other pple to find them better-looking
(probably other reasons too.. but those are the first)

now picture yourself with someone u really REALLY love. and they ask u if u'd get, say, a tongue piercing, cuz they think its hot. u dont find it too horrible, u might even like it on u. why would u say "hell no"? <-- quoting most of the pple who answered this thread.
honestly, it'd be really stupid if the person despised u for not gettin the piercing, and it would definitely prove that they dont love u.. but what does u immediately goin "hell no" say about your love for the person?

It would depend on the situation. I wouldn't get a tattoo for anyone,if I didn't want it. If I liked the idea,then I wouldn't close it down without some thought. A piercing,I may consider. If it were my partner wishing I had the piercing...then I may do that,if I loved the guy and I wasn't totally apposed to what he was suggesting.
Bottom line...I wouldn't do something I didn't want to do..but I wouldn't be completely closed off to ideas and suggestions either.
