Hello everyone! It's been a little while since I've posted but... I have a question for you all. Would you ever consider living on a commune? You're probably saying something like, "What?! There are still communes in 2007?!" Well, yeah they still have small communities, or "communes" around in 2007 (if you're interested, www.ic.org is a good resource). Would you ever consider this lifestyle for yourself or your family? I think it's a great idea, reallly. But it's definitely NOT for everyone. There are many eco-villages/communities in North America as well...not all of them are some middle-of-nowhere-on-a-huge-field-type-commune, most of them I presume are in appartments or one shared house. I believe there are also some international communes listed @ ic.org! I'm not sure if this question's already been asked... OK OK enough blabbing. So (again)...would you ever consider living on a commune?
absofreaknlutely but sorta dream more bout buildin 1 from the ground up.. my sunshines been stayin on 1 the last few weeks, & lived on her 1st commune at 10.. i'd love tolive on 1 but want just th right 1, thats kindawhy i wanna build it from the ground up, but then again sometimes i feel like even thats lil too restrictive, & just feel like being a nomad for life.. too many choices..toomany options..& i just never get round o any of em..lol
Yeah I've thought of that--building my own commune. That'd be so awesome! I really think that's the best way to live...in a tight-knit community of people working together and being really close to each other...it seems like the rest of the world is so fast paced and everybody's out for themselves, you know?
i would but i would have to find one that i felt comfortable in and felt like i fit with their ideals and such
yea i totaly think its the way were meant tolive i mean if u think about it, alottappl's personal problems come from a sence of isolation, the lackof supportive community ppl tend to feel alone with theyre problems, lost without a real unifying cause
Yup. I think it would be a nice experience, at least if you can get along with everybody. Working together for your community's survival would be very fulfilling. And it'd give me a sense of purpose I'm missing now, I guess.
I would love to live in a commune. I'm not a billion percent sure I would feel the same way in another 5 or 10 years but for now I would. I see my life going in one of two ways. Some sort of communal living or nature living. OR Being a millionaire so I can do what I can to help others who are less fortunate.
I would defenitly love to live in a commune! the year before i go to collage (Berkley) i'm going to spend the whole summer in a commune in Homer, Alaska, then after that I'll probably end up going every summer! maybe in the future i'll live on one full time!!!
a small back to nature one,and i mean back to nature, water from a clean river or stream, hunt, fish, garden, you know like the american indians lived before we stole there land and destoyed their culture,oh yes!
I would certainly do it. Just another thing for me to discover really. I think it would be a very interesting and educational experience and a great way to just get in touch with myself and the views and ways of other like-minded people. To live like that has been an interest of mine for a while now. I think it would be alot of fun.
I'm too much of a loner to work in a commune. I could go live by myself in the forest anytime though. Scare all the children that come through.
i would absolutely love that to just be with people that get you and people you can really be yourself with. It would be such a great experience
