if the astronauts died upon re-entry into the atmosphere...I mean, truly sad? Were you sad last time?
are they coming home or something? i dont follow that stuff anymore. so io guess not. if they died, i would surely hear abot it
No. I mean honestly if those fuckers are crazy enough to go out there in the first place then they have it coming.
I sort of feel the same way. Last time it happened I had been up all night doing cocaine, and I found it to be more of a curiosity than something to be sad about. and, supposedly they will be able to make it back ok, but they are doing some repairs while they are docked at the space station.
"No. I mean honestly if those fuckers are crazy enough to go out there in the first place then they have it coming." someones gotta do it
The thing is, they really want to do it, and are treated as heros....that alone makes me think that if they die, they were not necessarily innocent casualties. I think it would be the most frightening thing in the world to blast off on a rocket to space....first you see the area, then the state, then the continent, then the planet....no way!
I feel like I get kicked right between my ears and my shoulders when stuff like that happens, it's nothing intellectual, I guess just a distant emotional devistation something like the explosion but inside...but it does'nt ruin me or anything, yeah, I guess it does make me sad though... Mebbe we should just stick with exploring the ocean.
I felt bad for their families, but I figure they knew the risks they were taking. If it happened AGAIN.....I would probably just shake my head and wonder who's gonna sign up for the next flight of death....
I'm not saying it makes me happy, its just that I would feel way more sad if someone on here wrote that their mother died or something....
It is funny that we as humans always do set or goals so big. I agree that we should explore the ocean, see what kind of mysteries are on our own planet. Plus, if the people died exploring the ocean, it would be fish food, when they die in space, it's kind of a waste.
Well this does bring up some questions. Is an astronaut's life more important than that of a police officer or fireman? When they get killed in the line of duty it doesn't make front page news, yet they died to protect your safety. A couple of scientists get vapourised in a prototype 'Teflon coated' shuttle and the world mourns...lol. I guess what I'm saying is... our society is extremly fucked up and the last thing the government should be focusing on is looking for ice cubes on fucking Mars.
Exactly, they aren't exactly serving the public are they...they aren't heros either. They may be brave to do it, but its not heroic.
I go back and forth with NASA and the space stuff. I mean, you can't deny all of the stuff that has come out of NASA and the explortations -- especially as far as communications and all that shit goes. But at the same time, I do tend to believe that we have a lot of stuff that could be sorted out here on earth before we go farting around Mars. As long as there's a point, I don't mind the space missions. But I remember a few years ago they where going to send Neil Armstrong or Lance what's-his-name back into space just as like an anniversary thing. I thought that was retarded.
