would we be interested in a list of drum circles?

hey do you know of any drum circles on the west coast of fl?

 

what about houston, tx?? Anyone know of any there?

I would be interested in a list of drum circles, but I don't know of any at the moment. I'll search around.

 

In the los angeles/southern cali area, I know of three.

Saturday and Sunday, starting around 2 or 3pm (and going till the cops break it up) is the venice beach drum circle, right off the boardwalk, you just gotta keep walking to find it, on the beach.

Sundays there's one in Grifith Park, very serious drummers, I know little else about it including location, since I've never been

Every full moon, (depending on the time it peaks) there's a rainbow family drum circle on Black's Beach in San Diego, starts around sunset of whatever day they decide to hold it, pretty good scene, I've only been once, couldn't really tell you how to get there, all I know is that we parked in the lot, hiked straight down and followed the sound of the drums, those are the best directions I can give (what a hippie )

 

I know of none in my area, but would be cool to learn of them.

 

The best way to find a drum circle is to start one.

 

Every Sunday evening @ sunset, Treasure Island, the beach behind the municipal parking lot, next to Thunderbird Motel.

A website for a great monthly drum circle in Evanston, IL (near Chicago) is http://www.shedrums.com They have it around the full moon each month. The main drum circle is for women only, but they also have a spin-off called We Drum which is for everyone who wants to come.

yea, count me in as interested in such a list, of which I would contribute to when I hear about them in my area... I thought there was already a website with this kind of info somewhere, or at least I was told this by someone before, but I never had any luck finding such a site.

 

not a circle, but for those of you in chicago who need to hone those drummin skills, rick neuhaus teaches lessons at the flamenco art center on sundays. i'm not entirely sure where it is (address wise) but we sometimes go to welles park when it's warm. usually from 4-6pm, this sunday (5/22)it's from 1:30-3

I have been looking for drum circles around Kansas City. We did have a small group that met and camped by Weston MO. once a month for a spiritual drum circle but the owner sold the property and the new owner doesn't want "hippies" on his land. We all pitched in a few bucks and gave it to the last owner but the new one said no way. The only ones I have attended lately are at Schwagstocks. Usually an enlightning and freeing experience but there are always a few un-kind drunken youngsters. Last week-end was no exception. I would love a list of drum circles up and around my area of the woods. I need my fix. Thank you, Taz.

 

Yep, Jimmy still has those beautiful dreads! Most of the people at the stocks are from St. Louis. Abiut a 4-5 hour drive from me but I will take your advice and ask around. Thanx

 

ugh i havent been to even a little circle since school. we'd sort of play and screw around when people werent reading. i miss even that....i'm starting to get all twitchy

 

There were tons of crazy circles at ten K. I played in the tunnel till sun up. wild times. Anyways IF anybody Is intrested in Drumming and setting up a weekly bi weekly circle gathering i have 5 drums and many othere percusion peices. SO if anybody is intrested in the marquette area MEssage Me.
