I was talking to my friends dad before we left to go to a concert (Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson) and apparently he thought I was interested in his daughter, despite that my girlfriend was coming to the concert too haha, but anyway he goes, "I hear you're quite the hippie, so you're into free love and all that bullshit?" "I suppose so." "Well I'll tell what love is, love is when you wake up in the morning and go, 'Why the hell am I here?' but you stay anyway." And I was just sitting there like...wow...this guy has been living a life of bullshit... Just, how can you view love as that?
"Love is waking up in the morning, thinking 'why am I here' and then they hug you in their sleep and you remember"
In other words, the man was thinking that you would love anything and everything no matter what it looked like or whatever. So maybe it was a good thing that your girlfriend was going to the concert as well!
Yeah, I really don't think there was a bigger deeper meaning in this...at least from what else I know about this guy haha
I'm willing to bet it's a joke. Tons of older people joke about love and marriage and call thier wives "old bats" and things like that, but they're still head over heels in love. They just show it a different way. My grandparents bicker constantly but it's all in good fun.
my parents sleep in different rooms...and sit in different rooms...they argue and cuss at eachother everytime i visit... i call them the Costanza's cause they argue just as much as them...
Sounds like my parents. They divorced nearly 14 years ago however. I couldn't imagine living like that.
they live like that since they got married my mom said that when she was younger she would wake up and think it was all a nightmare and then look over and see my dad and start crying they both deserve eachother cause they both treat one another like shit..
I feel for you... by the way I haven't had the honnor to converse with you in a while? how is the husband and the kids Kayla? greg
hippiechickmommy - the women get just as miserable. People were not meant to stay together 50+ years.
since when could i concieve or be married dont feel bad for me i dont live at home..besides its their choice to stay with eachother ya know...
I dont know why they got married actually...i think they both need to lighten up, especially my mom cause sometimes I really feel bad for my dad... but dont get me wrong they have some special moments once in a awhile
'worst view of love' winner Bit glass is half empty attitude, but i agree. I don't think people were designed to be together for that long either.. I think this view will change when/if i meet 'the one' till then i am gonna have to stay cynical like yourself.
