Personally, I cannot stand professional baseball. At least when I'm forced to watch that shit on TV, there are announcers there to distract you from the ENDLESS no hitters. I've been to two real games before, and it was the worst shit I've ever had the displeasure of sitting though. A guy steps up to the plate.....he misses....he hits--oops, it's a foul....he hits again, oh no, a ball....oooh, he misses again, he's out. Next guys turn....ball.....ball....foul ball....miss....ball....another miss, and now he's out. This shit goes on until the 3rd guy gets in there and strikes out. Then it's time to trade sides and the next team is up at bat. And to sit through 9 innings of this boring shit....i guess it's a good excuse to catch up on some zzz's. So, what do you think is the most horrible sport ever created, and why?
yea i hate watching baseball, but i love playing softball.... robin williams is fucking hilarious i have that DVD with him talking about all that stuff i nearly pissed my pants..especially when talking about how Bush almost went down from snackfood or about all the people smoking bud in like...irag or india or something, just drop poptarts and theyll be freaking out. great times.....
ugh, golf would have been number 1 on my list, except I don't consider it a sport. It's sorta like the outdoor version of professional chess or something.
nah, the worst sport ever would have to be the "hundred yard shit" wherein, you run at full speed whilst shitting.
Actually, that sound like it might be sort of, umm, interesting to see. Just so long as I don't have to participate
Its much more than just swinging a bat......... its a thinking man's game. There is so much strategy and thought put in baseball. I guess not every person gets it, and Im glad its not as a popular sport anymore. Its not as easy as some of you people think. With all the pitches that pitchers throw, its tough to even get contact on the ball. Most people think its too easy for these muscular players to hit the ball out of the field, but that has nothing to do with the talent it takes to hit a homerun. Most of it comes from the head, and guessing what the pitcher is going to throw at that moment (you have to think fast because they throw it around 90 mph), and the rest of it has to do with bat speed, which has to do with your quick wrists (little to do with upper arm muscle). baseball is like a chess match, I guess, thats why some people think its boring. I think its the greatest game that was ever evented. And nothing is ever going to make me think differently of the game. Ive been to my share of baseball games. The stadiums are amazing (much more interesting than basketball or football venues). They all have their own character, they are like cathedrals to me. I love the ambiance at baseball games. nothing like it in the world. THE absolute worst game ever evented was basketball, especially pro basketball. That is the most boring it could ever get. just a bunch of showoffs.
I was agreeing with you very much, until you brought basketball into the mix. I love basketball. Always have. Sure, professional basketball has tainted the sport, but there are still some out there who play for the love of the game, not for the celebrity.
I may have something against basketball due to the fact that I wasnt any good. I spent most of the time on the bench, because I really never was given any chance to make something of myself. At least with baseball, when I was younger, I could showcase my talent. I was mostly a defensive player. I loved playing defense. I know some people might think it boring, because you dont get many balls hit in your direction. But once again, alot of it is your mind, and the rest of it is talent, and some good hands. Pro basketball has tarnished the sport, most definitely. They are a bunch of overpaid crybabies. The whole talent of the game is overshadowed by who can wear the most tattoos on their arms, or who can make the best dunk. Bore me to sleep guys. Where has the talent gone??
so be it. Im glad some of you dont get it. Personally, that makes me like the game so much more. the defensive plays you see in baseball is what makes the game fun to watch, and more interesting than any slam dunk or defensive tackle.
whatever ryan. i played softball for 3 years and i was damn good at it. had a record. just think it's boring to watch. it's more of do-er.
That how I am, with all sports. I loved playing short stop when I played baseball. Nothing like diving for a grounder or snagging a line drive or setting up that double play. And on basketball, once again, defense. I loved playing physical, and even a little dirty (discreet hip checks while setting screens works wonders). But, damn, I loved being assigned, at the start of the second half, to guard the guy who was hot in the first half, and completely shutting him down. I just loved doing the dirty work. Rebounding, blocking, diving for loose balls, all of it.
i love baseball. i love watching it, i love playing it...i love reading about it. all of the history to it. reading all the quirky rules and what not. so much more to it than people getting up and hitting a ball. the strategy involved. pitching, defensive plays, game-winning hits, close games down to the last pitch, rivarlries (red sox vs. yankees....and many more, but i'm a sox fan...so down with the curse of the bambino), old stadiums....i could go on and on. i played ss and 2nd base in high school. loved those positions. sometimes, watching a game on t.v. is boring, cuz you can go off and do other things...but i can't get bored a game at fenway park. its just really amazing there. i love all sports tho. when i play, its all or nothing attitude. i played and competed in mostly every sport and was really good at all of them. defense in basketball....thats the best part. a team that can play hardnosed defense lights my eyes up. thats why i was kinda glad detroit won...they were all about defense. defense makes the offense.
yes I agree!! rivalries are the most fun. Ive been to a handful of cubs/cards games and royals/cards games and I must say that those games are the best to be in. You are next to some hardcore fans for the other team and it tends to get very dramatic.
