okay so this morning i had a pain under my left armpit...it really hurt so i felt it to see what it is was...and it seems i have some kind of lump. Now at first i thought it was like a bite or irritation or something but now i feel it more it seems like its below the skin and quite hard...any ideas what this is?! i'm kinda worried in fact very worried. I'm back from uni for a few days and at home and very busy... people are using up my time and i don't want to bother them by asking them what it is...chances of me seeing a doctor before i get back to uni are slim...
it could possibly be a boil that hasn't come to surface all the way yet. when i was about 15 i had a horrid pain under my arm, felt like a hard ball and hurt like mad. you can apply moist heat to it and get some salve to put on it. when it comes to the skin surface more, you can drain it by popping it with a sewing needle. hope it isn't anything more!
It's probably nothing more than an inflamed gland of some sort, but you don't need to put it off in case it is something more serious.
I agree with sugrmag. I had the same thing happen to me some years back and I was worried sick about it. It ended up being an inflammed gland due to an ingrown hair as well as irritation from the frequent shaving and deodorant I was using at the time. (I have extremely sensitive skin and can't use too many products due to allergic reactions) But just to be sure, get it checked out!
there are lymph glands under your arms & they will get inflamed if you are fighting off some sort of infection or if they are irritated by something (like hippychickmommy said above). commercial deoderants can be HORRIBLE to your lymphs, so try to find a natural product you can use. just go see someone & try not to stress, sweetie!
