Hey, I was curious as to whether or not the wormwood they sell at vitamin/herb shops was of any use recreationally. I know they sell it in the liquid, not sure if they sell it any other way.

    Thanks for any info.

    got this form erowid:

wormwood has been smoked or brewed into tea for its psychoactive effects. Despite its reputation, wormwood is not a hallucinogen. Like camphor, thujone causes seizures in sufficient dose ranges, and can be fatal.

The primary reported effects of wormwood ingestion are a mild, hazy disorientation accompanied by a dreamlike or surreal feeling sometimes called "the dollhouse effect". This refers to the appearance of things as though they are idealized copies of themselves, as if they are from a dollhouse. Other reported effects include a feeling of mental lucidity, stimulation, mild euphoria, and a sense of relaxation. Effects are frequently described as mild, and sometimes as "boring".

they also said there had been two cases of hospitalization from wormwood oil, and because its so uncommon, you should still use "extreme caution."

Some absinthe sellers have bottles of concentrated wormwood extract for sale.

I have only had absinthe with water and sugar, but I've lately read about a few mixes that I'd like to try. Like absinthe and champagne. A couple of those should get the party going.

Well the one I saw in the vitamin shop I'm pretty sure is the extract. I'm not sure how much to take or anything though.

It is probably the same as what they are selling on this site, the bottles the same size and everything, different label though.

Hey I recently ordered some Wormwood oil (extract?) from www.IamShaman.com, it came in a little vile that has a label on th front that just says wormwood and the site stated it had very high levels of thujone (sp?) in it and can be toxic if one consumes too much...The only problem im having is that there is no directions on the bottle like how much to take or anything? so i thought well maybe this is sold as an "incense" and thats the only reason they can selll it..? but i dont know, but does anyone know what the average dose of wormwood is out of one of the wormwood (extact liquid) bottle? How many drops per dose? (there's a little dropper head on the bottle so the liquid comes out in uniform drops.)
