Hi all, I have a question and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. And yes, of course I have tried to do much research on this myself, but I cannot find exactly what I am looking for in my state (Delaware). In my opinion what my workplace is doing is wrong, but I don't know if I have a legal leg to stand on. So here's the deal: There are "managers" who go to meetings held by the owner of the company and other important VP's every other Friday morning. Well about 3 months ago, the company (I'm assuming the owner and VP's along with HR) decided that we will now implement drug testing of employees. We never had in the past. Our company I imagine became known for not drug testing. Needless to say we have had some problems with irresponsible people (ok ok we had fuckin crackheads workin the warehouse and really messing things up!) Anyway, my problem isn't the fact that we are now going to be drug tested because I only smoke on occasion and I can clean my system out pretty quickly(I drink at least 64oz of water on days that I don't exercise, more on days I do, and I am at the gym a lot). Anyway, my problem with the company is that they told these "managers" in the Friday morning meeting (many of which are pot users, and I know because I've smoked with them before) that we would be implementing random drug tests, but that no one else is to know about it. Now, I can't figure out if we have to be given a consent form to sign before- hand or anything like that on the net. My other problem is how can they tell some people, but not everyone what is going to happen. It is almost as if they gave all of them a head's up, but not anyone else. I suspect, because of inuendos that I've heard from time to time around the office that many people who work there smoke weed, and that it is widely known by the "powers that be". So are they allowed to just start without telling us, and are they allowed to give some people a heads up and not others? I found out btw, because I have friends in high places there, but it still has not been brought to anyone's attention formally and there are a lot more people who don't know. If anyone can give me a website where I might find some info for my state I'd really appreciate it. I have searched and everything that I find says that Delaware has no specific laws, but I have a feeling I'm not looking in the right place. I've looked under civil liberties also, and yes I've been to NORML, Erowid's, drugsense, drugpolicy, all of em. Can't find anything. Thanks a bunch! Jen
Hey, you live in Delaware! Sorry if this is off topic but I'm going to add you to my AIM buddy list. You seem like a cool gal. Peace Reid
