Any Woody Guthrie fans out there? I've been listening to his Dust Bowl Ballads CD and I'm pretty impressed. A vivid snapshot of American life during the tumultuous years of the Great Depression, a time when music wasn’t as commercialized as it is now yet still genuine, folksy, and heartfelt.

I have loved Woody's music ever since I was a teenager and read "Bound for Glory". When the movie came out in the 1970's I even went to see it in the theatre. I became a fan of course through my early discovery of Bob Dylan.

I even sing a couple of his tunes and I am thinking of adding more to my song list. Please Feel free to visit my MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/tracyfclark and listen to or download any of the songs on it. I have included my version of Woody's "Pretty Boy Floyd" and I also do a version of "Buffalo Skinners" which Woody sang too.

    Peace

I really like his music, it does have a very authentic sound to it, which one of the great things about it. Some of Pete Seegers and Cisco Houston recordings are good too, both of which he played and recorded music with at various points in his life. I was also pleasantly surprised when reading, "Bound for Glory" that he could also write so well.
