ya thank god..today mom and I went shopping for food. she's such a bitch sometimes though. So glad I went shopping today, I can finally eat like I want to. I love eating healthy food but I can't do it when theres no food to eat. i've got some lovely ginger to help kick my metabolism into gear. I want to start working out more often and eating as I should.. wish me luck!!

    heyhey yall!!
so I've pretty much stopped dieting and I've re-lost my 2-3 lbs from during the diet. I am in the process of deciding if I want to continue dieting or if I will just be more careful about what I eat. One of my main problems is eating late at night... I really wish I could just stop after 7 or 8 but I always end up eating something at like 10 or 11 pm. I need to try to be better about this. I also really really have not been exercising like I should. I am going to try to make it part of my schedule this coming week as I will be starting class. I have class 4 times a week and I will need to practice for my tai chi class on a regular basis so I hope it'll work out well. Tai Chi should help me feel more energized and ready to do things.

I find that a big hot cup of tea helps with the night cravings. Spiced rooibos is excellent. Or if I'm still really hungry I'll just have a banana.

so I'm thinking about doing this three week toning/ weight loss exercise plan. It includes a walk everyday ( easy, interval, speed walk, and long) ,body shaping 3 days a week using no weights, light weights, and heavy weights consecutively, and tummy toning 3 days a week. I think it'd jump start some weight loss and firm me up nicely.. i think it'd be a nice start.
    What do you think?

That's a really good idea. I need a structured workout like that. I think it would help a lot with everything. I wouldn't have to be so hard on myself for slipping up once in a while. And I know that exercise works well for me. I lost 15 pounds last year within a few months by jogging and I barely modified my diet. Ahh I'm just finding it hard to get a set schedule back together.

sucks dude, good luck. I wonder how my weight loss buddy is doing... I think I would like to cut down my calories... I'm not actually sure how much I eat in a day but I think 1400-1500 calories a day is probably a good number for me. I think I might like to eat that for 2 weeks then cut down for another 2 weeks to about 1200. I wish I were losing weight.. I wish all this wasn't pipe dreams. I need some motivation!!

ya years ago I lost like 20-25 lbs by riding my bike everyday. I was also eating mini meals. I might try to get into that again. It seemed to really work.

about the only thing I pig out on is peanut butter sandwiches, but I really need to excerise more. My 13 yr old son is always wanting to go hiking or swimming or just anything outside, and when I made a comment a few days ago about not having any energy...he instantly told me "move away from the computer & you might find some energy"

damn, your kid is intense. I wish I was able to grow up in the outdoors... I'm a city girl =). I dont really pig out I just eat..I dunno. This losing weight thing is so confusing. I think I am probably going to get some exercise today as I am taking my friend to grant park. He's new in town and feels strange not seeing as many trees as he's used to. Today should be alot of fun. later!!

    hihi all,
I dont know if I'm losing any weight... I kind of stopped actively trying and am just trying to eat as well as I can. Food is running low again in the fleshman house and I think tomorrow mother and I will be going shopping. I still haven't been exercising... A friend and I went for 2 mile walk with a nice long sit in the middle..we needed to chat. Today the new sigur ros cd came out and I am very excited.

hi, I know no one cares but I'm doing ok. lol. I've only lost like 2 lbs and thats ok. My main problem right now is not working out. I think I'd be doing much better if I worked out on a regular basis. I finally got my rebounder in the mail yesterday. I put it together and its loads of fun. I think I'll try to get in about 30-40 mins on the rebounder today. Hope everyones doing ok, I thinK i'm ok too.

    Later

Hey I care! Though I don't post a lot, I read this thread whenever I see a new post. Congrats on your weight loss! Losing two pounds isn't a lot but it's a WHOLE lot better than nothing! What is a rebounder? Is it like a mini trampoline?

Exercise is my problem too usually, though this week I've been busy collecting rocks at beaches and re-tiling the roof so I've gotten a lot of exercise without really trying. If you just stay busy and active then you don't really need to devote 30+- solid minutes of "workout time", so hopefully I can keep staying busy because the treadmill is sounding less and less appealing...
My eating has been going pretty well. I have this great routine that I really enjoy. Here's a sample day:

~Water, then a big hot cup of chai. It usually suppresses my appetite for a couple hours so I'm not going crazy thinking about food.
~For lunch, a can of tuna + cayenne pepper & a lot of really spicy mustard..it might sound odd but it's really delicious. I'll have some fresh greens and maybe a fresh tomato with this, and a glass of ice water or sparkling water + lemon juice. It's all very satisfying.
~At some point in the day, usually before lunch, I'll chop up one banana, one apple and one orange, toss it in a plastic bag with some canned pineapple and then put this in the freezer for about 1/2 hour to an hour. I blend it up with some water or soymilk, vanilla + cinnamon and it is SO good and good for you.
~For dinner, usually beans and rice, or lately, pasta with FRESH tomato sauce (straight from the garden) and a piece of corn on the cob.
~& I always drink a ton of water throughout the day.

Though every day is a little bit different, this is pretty much my diet. And it's been working. I started this on the first day of my period, and I ALWAYS retain a bunch of water during that time so I weighed in at 169. I figure my real weight (minus water retention) at that time was 165. And today I'm weighing in at 160. So it's not happening as quick as I hoped but at least I know it's REAL weight and not just water. Hope you don't mind me posting this on your thread...but I figure we can help and encourage eachother. Congratulations again!

    hey lace,
thanks for replying, I'm glad someones still reading. I really need to stop drinking soon. Your lunch sounds wonderful, reminds me of a simple dish from a friend's cookbook...yum. I am looking forward to being satisfied... its really very hard to eat right when you don't have much food for eating... it all just looks bland. Mom and I are supposed to go shopping tomorrow...we've not had much food for 5 days...very not cool. I need to make some money so that I can move out. Then I will control when and what food comes into the house... Its so hard to lose when the only food around is junk food or pretty much no food. Ces't ma vie. More soon

    Thanks!
I've been on it now exactly a month. I definitely feel some changes. I noticed my arms looked slimmer today. And, last week I noticed that my belt was no longer tight enough at the fourth hole so I had to move on to the fifth hole. Little bits of excitement and reassurance. I feel awesome too; I don't think I've ever been this healthy.

I know exactly what you're saying about it not being easy to eat right when there isn't much in the cupboards. It's taken more planning ahead on my part. There is always cheese and tortillas in the house so when we used to be low on food I would just fry up some quesadillas...but I get a stomach-ache just thinking about that now; all the grease. Once I got in the groove of it, planning ahead got easier. 3 things I always have in the house are canned pineapple, tuna, and a few bags of dried beans. Umm...I feel like I'm suddenly not making sense or my sentences aren't flowing together properly so I am going to go to sleep...Thanks for the encouragement! :D

oh its so hard lacy. I think I'm really giving in to my "weaknesses and addictions" too easily. weed food and slothfulness are becoming my downfall... sorry thats so dramatic lol. I really feel like I'm not doing alot of the things that I would like to do and alot of that is because of smoking and socializing and ,myself simply buying into it... I need to stop.. I need some motivation or some inspiration or some determination... more later...smoked up.
