Hey everyone, I have been wondering about how safe it would be to keep a length of wire in a dread for a long aount of time. I want to use wire to shape a dread and to keep loose hairs in but I dont want them to come out for quite some time. But, is there any risk of leaving wire in (besides the occasional prick to the scalp) that I should be aware of after they get wet or old or anything?

What do you mean by shaping it? like make it an S shape or something? Or make the dread round... cos then you could just use yarn

well there are some dreads that are just in kind of an ugly shape and i was hoping to train it to do like the others, so im not sure that yarn would work, although i have been thinking about using it for strays.

yeah i know what you meen about ugly shapes. i just let mine sort themselves out. but maybe something a little stiffer then yarn like hemp or something would work if you can't find a wire that works. and i find that my dreads kindof like to slowly "eat" wire and it really hurts to get it out. but if you find a wire that works, could you let me know?
