Sometimes, I really enjoy seeing how people back down when I confront them directly. And not even for the sake of conflict resolution. I just enjoy observing the apologetic, spineless mush that used to be my aggressor. I love seeing them knocked off their high horses. It never fails. And I do it without remorse. And the knowledge that I never have, never would, and never would react how they did, given their situation, only sweetens the deal for.

I know I'm making war not love (even if they made war first), and I probably sound like a huge bitch right now, but at least I admit it.

this approach will one day leave you waking up to a crowd of people over you while you ask questions about what just happened.

that fact was not lost upon me. verbally confronting somebody here often results in them physically confronting back

it's not an attack as much as a response to an attack. I wrote this after speaking with someone who used to be a close friend, and who is now in the habit of screwing a lot of girls who he abuses verbally, to a ridiculous extent, and they all take it. he decided to insult me and I decided to call him on it. and it was great to watch him back down like people always do when called on it.

It sounds like you confronted a bully, good for you. Maybe he will learn to treat his friends (and lovers) with more respect in the future.

If he's such an ass he deserves it. I like to confront things right away. It's better than letting the person think they have the upper hand on you!
