This weird enough for you Sage Cerridwen Phoenix Harper Sage = as in wise (not sure if that's appropriate or ironic), or maybe the herb. Cerridwen [keh-id-when] = A Welsh Goddess. Phoenix = for the symbolism of rising from the ashes. (and yeah I admit as in River, Joaquin et all) Harper = After Harper Lee It's what I answer to online, and am in the process of phasing in as my name of choice, to possibly change by deed poll. Everything I've published so far is under that name (well just Sage Harper) Oh and my Dad calls me Pops, no idea what that's all about. PS Yes I've picked that out for myself. My given name is stupidly normal, not going to share.
I have probably one of the most common names ever: Brandon. My last name is different, though: Istenes. Family name, goes back on my dad's side 300 years. However, since I'd much prefer my works be taken seriously than as a joke, I write under the name of Jerry Bostock. Jerry in honor of Jerry Garcia. Bostock is from the CD "Thick as a Brick" by Jethro Tull. On the front of the CD is a copied newspaper called the StCleave Chronicle with the headline "Thick as a Brick" and a picture of a boy, and articles about him. It says a 8 year old boy, Gerald Bostock, wrote a poem called "Thick as a Brick" that was disqualified from the writing contest for having "a bleak outlook on life, his god, and his country". An article on page 2 says Jethro Tull will work with the boy to produce a song of the poem. Anyway, the newspaper never existed, Gerald never existed, but it's one hell of a CD and one hell of a poem. Anyway, I am Jerry Bostock.
