so i was off wondering, why to people say the most obvious things? I found that maybe it really isn't obvious intil someone points it out sometime in our life, after it being pointed out once it become obvious. on a sub-concious level we feel the need to share this obvius fact with someone else to 'enlighten' them to our perception of reality. any other ideas?
some people aren't comfortable unless something is spewing out of their mouth. so once they run out of witty comments and vomit, all that's left is the obvious
obviousness is relative. drunks and others with empaired judgement often forget what they've already said and the they said it, which is what makes their company rather boring to anyone who isn't under the influence of something themselves. the other thing is of course, having to spend a lot of time around people who act like what ought to be obvious to them isn't. this is a quite common experience for practically everybody who lives in america. =^^= .../\...
I point out the obvious when people are clearly not getting the point to something...ya know those people that lack common sense...
Some people just find themselves unable to work with any amount of common sense or fear of being wrong find that pointing out what is without a doubt previously already known makes them less likely to be shown for the insecure or idiot they are. I love the people though, it makes me feel a little higher on the food chain of life.
I like when I am standing by an elevator, obvious that I had pushed the button, someone comes up and pushes it again. Though that's not really stating the obvious, but still...
i know what you mean... people often talk about the philosophy of life, and everything about it... and everybody knowssss it, even if they dont know they know. they do know. then thats why when they're telling people, everybody can relate, and then they're all like.. ya. totally. lol. its just that, even though people know, it takes them a while to actually realizeee shit. you know what i mean? lol like.. "omg, i just realized... uhh.. the whole world is interconnected!!" *gasp* you think.. nawww really??? you dont say..... lol subconciously knowing it, and actually thinking about it and realizing it is different,. philosophers think alot like potheads. lol. imo.
yeah, potheads can look at a blade of grass and be like "whoa, look at this thing"...and then starting talking about photosynthesis and chlorophyll..haha,,more like borophyll.haha.what?
There are some things that are obvious to everyone, there are others who are obvious to some. I'm not usually annoyed, it just depends on how the statement is made. The other night I was talking to a friend on msn and after a little talking, he asked me "so you are awake now?". I just said to him, to please go back and think of what he just asked me. Those kind of questions bother me more. I think they happen, because people have a necessity to always be saying something. Sometimes is good to be quiet
omg, i know.... like when people call my HOME number.. and they're either like.. "oh, you're home?" or "yo! where are you?" like.. holy shit. dumbfucks.. lol.
Sometimes, people need to be reminded of what is obvious. It's very easy to get caught up in things and not see what is blatantly obvious to others. This thread made me think of the mynah birds in Aldous Huxley's Island that went around all day screaming "Here and Now, here and now".
We have a lady up at work, works the day shifts for a couple of hours during our lunch to help clean the dining room and bathrooms and take out the orders...all the crap jobs nobody else wants to do. Anyway, she ALWAYS points out the obvious. And I've come to the conclusion, it's because she likes the sound of her own voice. I will stick with that conclusion.
