but you categorized a few people that act lazy and beg for money with all of the hundreds of thousands of people that don't have a place to live
I have absolutely no problem with giving food or cigarettes and I actually do it quite often, but money. Fuck that. Most of the time they're just using it to get high.
i don't think he should try hopefully he ends up having to go through such a misfortune where he has no choice but to do so! then he'll understand.
the vast majority of the US is no more than two paychecks away from homelessness. in today's economy, this is a huge problem.
I think calling people deadbeats and wanted them dead - carting them off in waste trucks...is pretty close to calling people worthless.
I have been homeless for a brief period of time. BRIEF, like less than one month. But I did something about it. Being homeless (like a bum) is plain lazy. Whether you beg for change or not. It's a cop out.
I'm just glad not everybody turned their backs on me. I made friends, thanks to public education, and I was only on the streets for a few weeks. But I'm sure while you were asleep soundly the bed that was bought for you, you didn't think much about empathy. It's probably hard to understand. But you sound like a child.
During this time I ate whatever, slept whenever. But I fuckin changed it. I didn't just say 'fuck it'
Why don't you just say you don't like people that do not help themselves. I guess that is fair enough... You might get something out of this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nohome/
I do fuckin understand. I dealt with it. BTW I bought my bed. I bought my guitars, I bought my car, I bought my clothes, I by my food, and I'm putting myself through school. I did that shit for myself because I'm better than to just roll over and say fuck it.
There is ALWAYS something you can do. I was homeless (really homeless) for just under a month. I played guitar and ended up making a little over $60 a day. I rented a space (floor) at a house, then after like 3 weeks I had enough money for a months worth of space at a house. In that time I got a job, then could afford another month, and so on
okay that's you. what about people that've lost all their money paying medical bills or owed money to the government and they're elderly? what are they supposed to do? you had enough money to keep your guitar and to rent a space... there's plenty of situations where you CANNOT get out of a situation like that.
I don't think it takes big balls. It think it might mean you are ignorant to the fact that you are the one who decides how interesting your life is so you lack the motivation to change it. Some people are alive but just don' live. Or at least they don't live as often as they could/should.
i've been on the really high ups and the really far downs... homeless isn't as far from the top as you might think. and like someone else said having a roof over your head but being two paychecks from broke is not as far from the bottom as you might know. i give homeless people money, food and clothes. i've been there and i know that shoes wear out in about a week when you live on teh street. walking in those shoes isn't a walk in the park, its like walking on hot coals. getting shit on by arrogant assholes who think they're better because they're born with a silver spoon in their mouth doesn't help the situation. you don't have to love them, but you don't know them so how could you possibly know that you hate them. you sound like an idiot, judging people from such a narrow perspective. check yourself. blah.
