Is it because they are too depressing? What i've noticed is that many people, especially in this era loathe many of the progressive rock of the 1970's. I love the progressive rock of the 1970's. Yes, Supertramp, Uriah Heep etc. This is great melancholie music.
Supertramp are a band that many people loathe, howeve rthat's why they are a "cult band". I love Supertramp.
i, personally hate Supertramp..they were just like every other arena rock group in the mid-to-last 70's. And I wouldn't call them prog-rock, i'd call them arena rock, like Journey, or Foreigner
It's good that many people hate Supertramp, this is what makes them more special. Only an elite few of progressive rock listeners love Supertramp.
whoa..i consider myself a huge fan of prog-rock, and still, i don't see how Supertramp can be considered prog
drrrrrrrrrrreamer! hahaha, i listend to it when i was young [it seemed that life was so wonderful...] lol, supertramp...
I like a few of their songs. When I saw Ringo Starr and His All Star Band in 2001, the lead singer of Supertramp played.
dreamer, give a little bit, the logical song...they had more hit songs. but they all kinda sound the same.
Excuse me, but Supertramp does not make hits!!! This is ignorant!!! Does Led Zeppelin make hits? Supertramp make conceptual albums.
Supertramp's biggest hit and most commercial song is "The Logical Song". Led Zeppelin also had hits. But their intention was on making conceptual albums.
Supertramp is probably the most disrespected band of all time. no one even has the respect to chose their best album from the poll I made.
untill recently, i had pretty much only heard one of their albums, crime of the century. it was ok. had a few good songs on it, but overall i didnt like it. i downloaded their discography a lil while ago, and found that they played some really good long progressive songs, so ive found a new respect for them
Their longest songs are on "Even In The Quietest Moments" (1977), this is my favorite Supertramp album. I think that the song you are reffering to is "Fool's Ouverture". "Even In The Quietest Moments" is a progressive rock masterpiece. Supertramp expresses a lot of sorrow and depression in their music.
