Why does time go so fast when you get old?

Its the summer holidays and already 2 weeks have passed,its gone so effin quick
Remember being a kid and it dragged on forever and by the middle of the holidays you actually WANTED to go back to school.
Why is my life going so quick,what is going on.....I just dont get it??
It seemed like xmas has just gone and now it will be here again real soon


btw I dont go to school.....I work at a school

 

It's because time is relative.

A given amount of time feels much longer if your life has been short and vice versa.

 

When I was a kid my breaks didn't last long enough. I NEVER wanted to go back to school.


But I understand what you mean. My birthday is right around the corner and I can't believe a year has almost passed already.

what Jimmy P said. when you're 10, a year is 1/10 of your life. when you're 40, it's only 1/40.

 

yup, when your 1 years old, half your life is only 6 months.
when your 40, half your life is 20 years...

 

because you are progressively more aware of your own mortality

yep. I don't know whether to do what I have to do faster, or if I should shorten my list of things to do.

 

I'm 55, my days are down to 11 hours from the usual 24.

 

yep.. when I was a little kid.. a month seemed like a year..

 

My months are about 20 minutes.

 

Whatever action you take won’t help because it’s all a state of mind
