Why do Americans have a tendency and an inclination to make fun of the rest of the world. They ridicule British people about their bad teeth and when they talk about French, they say " French people stink! ". Rightfully, the truth of the matter is completely the opposite. According to the International survey, the British are way ahead of the Americans in dental care and oral hygiene. And, French people use more soap and perfume per capita than Americans do. It appears the French are ahead of Yankees in hygiene but they keep it to themselves, and they never brag about this particular issue. However, Americans, always consider themselves to be "the best" and almost always make fun of the French, the British, the Mexicans and/or the rest of the world. Why is that?! Please and make your comments in ENGLISH. Thank you!!
because most americans are brainwashed since childhood that they are superior at everything. and that america is number 1 so that they can carry out their imperialism with out guilt. and that would include arrogance, ignorance, stupidity, and consumerist lifestyles! atriot:
I'm American and having the opposite problem. I'm getting a inferiority complex because I am frightfully aware of the image that of us that is being presented to the rest of the world. I work really hard to not go with any stereotypes when overseas-trying to speak the language even when I know only like 10 words, trying to dress at least more British than American, eating only local cuisine. I know I shouldn't be ashamed of what I am, but I don't identify with most American people, and I feel like I will be judged with them if people discover where I was born. So, a plea- don't judge all of us by that image. Don't be like the Americans you hate who make fun of someone based on their country. Some of us really try to break out of the moronic nature of America right now. Usually, I would much prefer to have "bad british teeth" or be a "smelly french person". It just wasn't what was in the cards for me. Peace and Love.
It lets other people know who's running the show and your place within it. A one world government is attempting to raise it's head and guess who's leading the charge? x
kinda humorous how this thread shows indignation at americans making fun of other countries based on stereotypes, and then what follows is stereotypes about americans. hehe..
I have a friend in Portugal, a farmer. I've always promised him if I make it over someday that we shall sit in the shady trees around his house, sip fine Portuguese wine, and flick political boogers at Washington DC. x
Believe me, all the cool Americans I know, make more fun of asshole Americans, than they do foreigners. It's my guess that most of you in other country's secretly want to be like us and want to have what we have...all I can say is, be careful what you wish for...:reddevil:
Cuz we have no history, we don't have real morals or ancient traditions... I think We're just green eyed devils!
I am an American. I have never heard any American say that the British have bad teeth, or that the French stink. Many Americans still like to think that the Americans have the best of everything, but that is because they are ignorant of other countries. The people of Western Europe have less crime and poverty, and better health.
I too am American. We have our problems (just as everyone, including France and England, do) but I'm quite proud of my homeland. I think you folks in the old world misjudge us a great deal. Most people I know hold a high regard for europeans - its a very romanticized place to us. Everyone dreams of long european adventures, and most educated people go out of their way to see it once in a while. We love you guys, I don't know where you get off thinking we berate you. The only hating that Americans do in any real quantity is to one another. We have a very eclectic population, and differences cause divisions. Frankly, I think there is more negative talk of Americans for being fat, arrogant, lazy, etc, coming out of europe than vice versa. My first time in France, when I was only 15, it was the spring of 2003, and we had just invaded Iraq. In a cafe in Denim, France, a grown man screamed at the two 15 year old girls I was with and I about how evil America is. As if we had anything to do with it. 15 year old kids. Never in my wildest dreams would that happen here. But I don't blame all french people for one a-hole, though, just as I don't think you should blame all of us for a couple a-holes over here. The world is full of mostly wonderful people, but the bad apples try to ruin it for everyone. Don't be a hater. Or a hypocrite ;P PLUR
In short the reason we make fun of the rest of the world is because our cocks are so big, rivaled only by the size of our balls. I hope this cleared things up for you.
That pretty much sums it up, well stated kitty. (Seems like a pointless post of mine, and I rarely post a "agreement post", but I strongly agree with what was said here and thought I'd reiterate it.)
