I am just curious...not bashing...I assume why people are voting for Kerry...but why are people voting for Bush? Once agian just curious not bashing we all have our rights and views.
Simple, under Kerry and most Democrats I believe, the country moves 1 step closer to European Socialism and becoming a victim of the UN.
The same reason people vote for Kerry; because they're uninformed and the media dictates their actions.
I'm calling him paranoid because everything to him is some kind of government plot, and it's true, anyone wil tell you that, my socialolgy teacher who is a democrat even just said this the agenda for the Democrat party is socilaist in the long run while for the Republicans it you're on your own captitalism, and it's both true.
You don't know socialist, our most conservative party is moer liberal than your most liberal party..we even have 2 socialist parties, and they acctually get into the house...so GO SOCIALISM
Peace Peace brothers and sisters. I do not want negative energy...I was just curious and asking a sensible question. Let no negative vibes engnite here. Now to the Republicans...Why do you see bush as the best canidate for president? How can he do a better job? I personally am not pro war and yet he is.
No, I mean letting the UN make descisons in our place, the same goes for all the European countries in the EU right now. Back to the last thing LaurelBayTree said, why do I think Bush would be a president, well I agree with alot more of his policies then I do with Kerry, so of course I want someone I agree with in office, but also, I think Bush is a stronger leader, Kerry really does go to much with opinion polls, there are some thing that a leader must lead on.
Laurel, The reasons are not political. The reasons are psychological. The reasons stem from the psycho-pathology of America's Gothic Puritan Culture. Mr. Bush and the Republican Party more accurately project the irrational psychosis of America's Puritanical collective unconscious. Remember, every culture and every race is trapped in the irrational momentum of its shared collective unconscious. Our symptoms are not simple political issues. Our symptoms are a mental health issue. America does not need yet another president. America needs a psychiatrist.
That is an interesting insight. There is an element of the phenomenon witnessed in religious beliefs when it comes to politics. There are some who fall on any point of the political spectrum who follow without reason (note not the same as reasons).
This is a significant oversimplification of the issue, though. I suppose that on the extremes of each party, this is, potentially, a valid point. The definitions change over time as well. John Kennedy in 1960 is a different definition of Democrat than exists today. The same goes (perhaps more so) for the terms "liberal" and "conservative." It is an interesting discussion anyway.
I think that people are going to vote Bush because although they disagree with his decisions, they are scared shitless of John Kerry. Alot of this is the fruit of 'political advertisment' (propaganda really), and while most 'old school' (as opposed to neocons) republicans hate his fiscal irresponsibility, his expansion of government, his failure to plan for post-war Iraq etc... they don't want the most liberal senator* as president. I mean, he wants to ban guns** bibles*** and kill babies****. That and his wife is African-American*****. *He isn't really. **It is doubtful that any party in my lifetime will have enough clout for this. ***Republicans in the bible belt distributed fliers saying that Kerry would... ****Despite having control of the entire government for two years abortion is still legal. But then again i guess you can't be a pro-life war-monger. *****Despite coming from a French family she was born in Mozambique.
What if Turkey gets admitted to the EU, i mean it's mostly in Asia... As for the UN thing, it's kinda like our stance on the international criminal court. We refuse to be part of it, yet insist that our enemies be tried by it. We are holding other countries to a higher standard than we hold ourselves, that's fucked up. And lastly, I find it surprising that a party long associated with a deep distrust of the federal government and traditionally Jeffersonian* (or dare i say it Clintonian) outlook has shifted so rapidly to a Madisonian** uber-state outlook. *He thought that government should be concentrated on the local level and that elected representitives should represent the views of the citizens. **He thought that a strong federal government is neccesary and that people aren't smart enough to lead themselves. Also he has a city named after him in Wisconsin.
That actually kind of worries me sometimes, Republicans are making the federal government bigger in places, it scares the hell out of me to know what Democrats might do.
