Paul's too pop for my tastes. Ringo is just too... Ringo. Lennon was cool. But ya gotta remember that he learned his guitar from George Harrison, who also brought an eastern feel to some of their works in the latter albums. I think that George had more musical talent than the rest. aLthough john and paul definitely had the lyrics going for them
It has always annoyed me how many people worship John. Ugh, it makes me want to dislike him just for that. I always thought George was the most musically talented and in my humble opinion he, by far, made the best post-Beatle music.
close tie between john and george... the me of a few years ago would've said john, but i think george leads the way today... paul has definately gone a little too pop for me, although the "Back in the USA" tour he did a few years ago was definately rocking (for an old guy, you know )
It was always John...All 4 were like magicians , and when u look back at the artistic growth spurt from 1963 - early 1970.its actually scary... But John was the leader , and from his early mop top days through the love/insanity of Yoko , he was a true original...While all the Beatles were quipsters , john was a seriously funny cat...In His Own Write is a screem even today... But what seals the deal is that B4 acid . JWOL was every bit the song writer Macca was , just as prolific as the cute one , and when Acid got in his head , he started to write songs that were HIS , about things that related to him , not just writing tunes as a craftsman. Lennon was actually what they call an "artist"..and his songs STILL are unique and , (i hate this xpression )fresh...his tunes never get old.... ...and the physical transformation from early Beatle to the Pepper era is also kinda freeky.. so John it is...jmo
