Who's the most overrated historical figure?

Among the listed, who is the most overrated? I'll just go with Ronald Reagan since he's the first one I thought of.

 

Jesus, for sure.

 

Christopher Columbus. No way should a lying, rapist, murder get credit for discovering the americas.

Isn't it slightly disproportional that 5 of the options are politicians? 3 being American presidents? This could do with more variation. I picked Jesus anyway..

 

yeah it's disproportional kinda on purpose. for the sake of my own curiosity, I wanted to know people's response mostly to political figures, but I wanted to leave room for suggestions as to who is more overrated that I didn't think of.

I personally don't think churchill and fdr are overrated but some do, so I put those. i've always found beethoven to be overrated, in terms of music. I wouldn't call jesus overrated, just misunderstood. Bell only got credit for the phone because he beat some guy to the patent office by like five minutes with what I believe was an inferior phone model.

Jesus on that list, I'd probably say Mohammed (PBUH) otherwise,at risk of fire-bombing. At least Jesus' message was peaceful, Mo' did a lot of war waging. Francis Drake is probably our version of Columbus. He's seen as a piratey style hero (owning the Spanish Armada and such) but he was kinda one of the biggest slave traders in history.
