It's been months for me, but warmer weather has to be around the corner. On another note, I can SERIOUSLY see the physiological difference that bare feet vs. shoes make. During warm weather when I'm barefoot 90% of the time, I never get 'foot charley-horses'. But this winter for the first time, I started getting these. and the pain was *aweful*. I suspect this could be due to the restricted movement of the foot, and on top of that I have been wearing high tops all winter. I havent worn high tops for years and years, plus they add EVEN MORE natural movement restriction. I also lost almost all feelings on the top of my right foot a few weeks back, which has also never happened before. Lasted for a few days and it really worried me. I wish I could get an early start like I'm sure many of you have had, but I'm being a wuss :p

Well, the early start of my personal barefoot season is due to mild enough (for my taste) weather setting in since Feb. 18... (you can read about in my journal, too). The high temperatures during the day are between 40 and 50F, making it mild enough for me to bare my feet to the world and happily wiggle my toes...

Let's see what will happen, as temperatures are forecast to take a little downward course towards the weekend. Nights are getting rather cool again, as I can see at the moment, as my thermometer shows 28.4 F (-2°C). So, Mother Nature's kiss on my toes this morning will be a cool one.

    Wiggling toes,

in fact lately i just diluted barefooting, but now the temps are on the rise, plus that god damn boy finally managed to actually deliver my two tons of firewood and this means that i am no longer freezing at home, where i started to put on socks to survive :p .

Around here (central Texas), the barefoot season starts January 1st, unless you're particularly sensitive to cool weather. I've been hiking in shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt with the temperatures around 40ºF (5ºC) and all around me are people dressed like they're going on an expedition to Antarctica. My lack of footwear sparks many incredulous comments, but I'm comfortable. I recommend a warmer clime than Iowa for barefooters.

I'm exposing my toes every chance I get. Most years I'm fine waiting for warm weather, but it's just not coming fast enough this year. So far I've logged 34 different places I've gone barefoot since the start of the year and we haven't seen 60 deg F (~16 C) yet!

I had the day off today and because it was almost 70... I went barefoot the whole day! I went to Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop, Best Buy and a few quick stops at the mall - all barefoot!!!! Life is good.

Yes, the weather has been getting significantly warmer and I've been at the park the past two days doing some barefoot hiking. Tis muddy though with all that melted snow. Squish.

Well, I wish I had a day off yesterday... :( - fair, sunny weather and around 64F/18°C in the shade, and a full office day from 9 am to 6.30 pm. At least it was mild enough to wear flip-flops in the office and slip out of them to wiggle my bare toes under the desk.

All the more delighted I was when I could leave the office, kick off the flips and happily walk around barefoot. Now, only one more day at the office to go before a barefoot weekend.

Extra delight this morning: with early morning temps of 60F/13°C and a light breeze, I enjoyed a morning cigarette and coffee in the dark on my balcony, being barefoot all over... :D - exquisite feeling of mild air flowing all around me.

Wiggling spring-happy toes, looking forward to barefooting all weekend,

I officially started barefootin season yesterday. Wal mart, and the grocery store. I usually have first time anxiety at walmart if I have not gone there barefoot for a while, but this time I didn't have any. I also got a comment. In the grocery store a guy (i think he was a little tipsy) said "hey! youre barefoot!" in a joking manner. I said, spring time's here man! we both laughed, so I'll chalk that up as a + comment. Happy season everyone!

Well, considering the fact that yesterday was officially the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere, I'd say your summer's about 3 months away. ;)

Even here in Texas we generally wait until mid-April to start looking for summer.

I went to a Dollar General today which is inconsistent in it's bare feet policy. I have been told to try to wear shoes next time, but also that bare feet are ok. Today I decided to actually ask before I shopped. I got a really good response. She told me it was ok, and she was very pleasant as I was checking out. Great start to BF2010 season!

I took a walk with flip-flops for about 2 miles, but had them off for half of it. (I like to have them along the first time to a) get comfortable with people and b) make sure my soles are tough enough and I don't end up in pain.)

Walking in snow barefoot in 70 degree weather is the bomb diggity :D I tried snow at 60 degrees yesterday and it wasn't as fun.

I started early this year. The winter was just dragging on too long and I had to expose the toes. Usually we get a few odd days in the 60's during February, but it just didn't happen this year so I had to force the issue and "just do it"!

Anyhow, I'm again keeping a tally of where and when I've gone barefoot in public. I'm pushing 70 locations since the start of the year. Cool/cold weather outings are always a challenge - people give you a lot more odd looks that they do during the summer. You're a lot more conspicuous.

The past few days I've been in the southwest U.S. It's been warm enough to go without shoes comfortably, but not so hot that I've fried my soles!
